Does Lane Kiffin's unstable track record scare anybody else?

The guy can coach and he can recruit. but look at his coaching CV:

1997–1998 Fresno State (assistant)
1999 Colorado State (GA)
2000 Jacksonville Jaguars (OQC)
2001 USC (TE)
2002–2004 USC (WR)
2005–2006 USC (PGC/OC)
2007–2008 Oakland Raiders
2009 Tennessee
2010–2013 USC
2014–2016 Alabama (OC/QB)
2017–2019 Florida Atlantic
2020–present Ole Miss

Not a lot of stability there.

Also, would he really leave Ole Miss after 2 seasons, especially after all the negative press he got for leaving Tennessee after 1 season?

Lane just fricks anything with a hole gotta love it as your head coach!!! He'd fit in great here plowing through the B.R. and Lafayette areas!

A lot of good coaches move around. It's part of the profession, particularly if you're regularly being offered good jobs.

He’s a better vs of O. He’s had mild success at Florida Atlantic, been fired or quit everywhere else. He will bring the immaturity and unprofessional mismanagement you currently have with O. However he will bring a better offense.

So yeah, I’m done with the Pete carol retreads.

He's a great OC. That's it. Every place he's been in charge ended up becoming a giant dumpster fire minus FAU.

Raiders
USC
Tennessee

Ask any of them if they would take him back right now. He is not a leader of young men. He's way too immature to be in that type of position. He needs an alpha over him to keep his dumb arse in line.

Half of his career was at USC, that’s not too bad

Why would anybody want to go from one dumpster fire to another, for the likes of him? Disbanding the entire program would spare us all.

Kiffin is going to be the smokescreen guy, I don’t think he ends up here but Woody let’s Sexton leverage us for a big raise in return for future considerations

Two of the stops are jobs in which he was fired (Oakland and USC). Oakland was a train wreck then where no one could, nor did, succeed. He flamed out at USC.

The places where he voluntarily left were for promotions. USC was a better job than Tennessee in 2010. He went from OC to HC at FAU. Then FAU to Ole Miss.

I suppose you could worry about him leaving LSU, but I would imagine the list of college jobs that are "better" than LSU would be pretty small. LSU will spend money. They will give you the facilities. You can win at a high level. Their might be lateral moves to be made, but not a lot of "promotions"...unless he would want to coach in the NFL.

Then again, you WANT your HC to be in demand for other programs. That means he's doing something right.

To be fair USC was on major sanctions when he went there and he did a decent enough job there considering the circumstances.

That one year at Tennessee he was putting together a great class.

I wouldn’t hate the hire at all, but I understand the concern and after O I think Woody is looking for someone more buttoned up.

He'd be better than O but I'm not sure he'd stay long and he might have some PR issues as well, although he seems to have matured some as he's gotten a little older.

Kiffin would leave LSU in 3 years. Book it.

But he may win a championship before he left.
