Yes he deserves credit. However, I’m not upset he’s gone by any stretch.

Joe Alleva is a POS who should be financially ruined after his behavior at Duke.

He is the King scapegoat. I can't stand him for what he did before he came to LSU. Since he got here all the crap that is attributed to him in largely on King. He didn't buck King, true but King was his boss.

Here is why he does not in regards to this specific issue:

He tried to pull a coup and secure an overrated coach that completely botched our image. He further dug his own hole with the way he handled himself during “the search”,
and he was going to end up hiring Herman until we dodged a bullet.

If anything his bad luck is what he should get credit for.

What he does get credit for would be the upgrades to the exterior of the stadium.

So why did the decision makers fire him then? Since it's so clear he is great at his job and all

He didn’t get fired. He’s still employed at LSU. Getting paid.

Donors put pressure on the school because of the Will Wade stuff. Which just about all unbiased parties believe he handled right.

I think “the meeting” with all coaches let everyone know that Woodward wasn’t going to sit and let them coast anymore.

I firmly believe that the only reason alleva didn’t fire wade was because his job was on the line and the higher ups wouldn’t allow it.

Yes. Strangely enough it was probably time to change, similar to Miles.

If nothing else we needed a new vision for fundraising, facility improvement and other responsibilities.

It as not the actual hire of Coach O-it was the unprofessional manner he hired O and the arrogance he displayed.

He deserves zero credit for hiring Orgeron. What a disaster of a hiring process that was

Alkeva’s reassignment (he wasn’t fired) was entirely about fundraising, not on the field product. The BOS saw him as an impediment to reaching fundraising goals over the Will Wade suspension.

Spin it however you want. He was relieved of his duties as AD. You don't do that to someone that's doing a good job

It was 100 percent his decision, with his career on the line. He deserves a ton of credit.

Herman wasn't coming here, hell he got Strong fired a week early just to make sure that Texas had the opening. Jimbo? Woodward hired him, and tied Aggie to a guaranteed contract. And you people want to bash JA

None of that changes the fact that Alleva had to settle on O.

None of that changes the fact that out of dozens of coaches that would've made the fanbase happen, Alleva hired O knowing his future hinged on the hire
