Does Jayden Daniels remind anyone else of Nick Marshall at Auburn?

Nick Marshall was an excellent QB at the college level because of how fast of a runner he was, and he had good touch on the deep ball. Jayden has Marshall speed, but he needs to develop the passing of Marshall. If we could get Nick Marshall play out of him, we'd be really good.

When Gus Malzahn ran that offense, he was at his prime. When he got back to a pro-stlye offense without the read option, he tanked badly.

Marshall was far more gifted at running the option imo

Marshall was a converted DB so naturally he was a little bit better as a runner. However his overall skill set was very similar to Jayden’s. Good post OP

LSU needs to run the option a whole lot more. It gives LSU better chances to find an open receiver also, off the option
I am starting to believe that JD does not fully comprehend the pass patterns receivers are running on any pass play called. he knows only the first option, which in most cases doesn't even accomplish the purpose for the reception....a first down.
I think he doesn't throw receivers open because he is unsure of where they are going to be. If he knew, he would throw to open space before the receiver has come open. He also apparently doesn't understand leverage or the accuracy to throw to a receiver when the receiver has the inside or outside leverage on a defender. He is a good runner, but we have runners. LSU needs a passing game to even compete with the top teams in the SEC. JD has proven over a long time that he just doesn't have what it takes and isn't improving in that area even a little. I don't know what BK should do, but I know what I would do.

Actually, if you have never seen him in football gear, you would think he was Andre 3000.

Yes very much so, and it’s why if he’s going to be our starting QB we should run something more like a malzahn offense instead of an offense suited for a joe burrow or Desmond Ridder type QB.

Marshall seemed a little better equipped to take a hit than Daniels too. Not sure Daniels would last running the ball even more than he already is doing so (while also getting hurt)

He reminds me more of Bo Nix. Run all day, can’t hit the broad side of a barn.

Marshall seemed more explosive of a runner. Better at passing too

No. JD is a much better passer than Nick Marshall was. JD is a natural QB, Marshall wasn’t.
