One of the greatest problems with all of this isn't necessarily what happens in G'Ville directly, it's what happens around the state & the resources that won't be available for a football game in particular, law enforcement & first responders. You can't have a major sporting event without those two resources & no way a football game gets priority over the needs of the surrounding communities. That in itself will be the deciding factor.

If it did wouldn’t it be pretty easy for the SEC to make 2017 a Florida home game? It's an annual and not a rotation game- just make 2017 and 2018 home games for Florida and then go back to the normal home and home pattern.
no offense but they aren't punishing LSU because of this and giving us a half assed home game on short notice instead of a planned, sold out game

The game is being moved. Will be announced this afternoon.
Edited to add: Baton Rouge is most likely location due to the likely use of stadiums and hotels in the extreme SE being used for storm related logistics.

More favorable track for Gainesville this morning...

According to certain rantards from last night, they will just move the game to Sunday, no big deal.

Would Florida not have to fly in on Thursday ahead of the storm arriving there? And I assume that they have a rig like ours for equipment. How long does it take to pack that thing??

Baton Rouge has a lack of hotel rooms. Someone suggested last night to use Lod Cook.

Agreed. That should be obvious to anyone familiar with hurricanes.
For those who are not familiar or remain willfully ignorant the latest forecast has moved well south from where it was 24 hours ago --- from the North Carolina/South Carolina line to the Florida/Georgia line at 2 am Saturday morning. --- and the NHC admits that their track is north of model guidance. If it makes landfall in Florida Gainesville will get hurricane force winds well into Late Friday night. As tropical storm winds extend 160 miles from the center those would likely not leave Gainesville until the eye is somewhere north of the line but south of Savannah, Ga.(and, yes, I know they do not extend outward equally in all directions). Given the size of the storm it is also possible that Gainesville will be experiencing torrential rain Saturday morning. Given the uncertainty of the track Gainesville's forecast will be updated but 'sunny weather" is no longer in the forecast for Saturday.
This is based on the NHC track. If the models are right Gainesville may be in the middle of the storm Saturday morning.

An excellent idea. Makes more sense than anything else. Lod Cook has everything in place that the team would need.

The 8am track had moved back slightly to the east
The 11pm track last night had it going smack into the fla/ga coast
My neighbors daughter goes to Coastal Georgia and they were told to evacuate and classes canceled for the rest of the week
I think they will make a decision based on the 2pm forecast as it's the latest they can wait
They seem to be playing with fire though

At this point, ain't no way they're playing as scheduled

For FL though, the storm may come close to the coast but will be spared for the most part. H. Where did you ever come up with that idea?

downvote away, but I agree
If it stays on this track there is no chance of a game in the swamp saturday

There is just no way. I can't believe the clown show Florida admin isn't moving it yet.

If LSU had waited this long, you guys would be praising them saying that they don't want to lose a home game and are doing a great job monitoring a volatile situation. They will give Florida enough time to make plans.
But now that its the other way around, Florida has a "clown show" admin.

I'm afraid the chances this game doesn't happen are getting relatively high

BFS. Hey let me tell you exactly what's going to happen. A category 3 storm is going to run the entire length of the east coast of the Florida peninsula fricking shite up and displacing thousands and thousands of people. It is going to be really bad. The Florida admin is just delaying the inevitable right now and hours count when you are talking about an event with 100,000 plus attendees. So in short, GFY.

What's the chances of the game being moved to November 19th instead? Both teams have an Out of Conference game.
Yes I think FLA would have to pony up some cash to LSU to make this happen.
