For all those who remember, Nussmeier is John Fourcade, part 2. He will make some big, flashy plays, but the inexplicable interceptions and fumbles will come at the worst times.

You can't coach those things out of him. It's just who he is. It just is.

Nuss I we may be a great QB but you can’t judge on that game. GA had tge game sealed when he came in tge game. GA was playing zone coverage and a 3 man front most of the second half. Slinging it 30-40 yards downfield every other play isn’t a real game plan. The kid had fight and a live arm. Fans tend to over react on short term stuff.

I equate this to John Rye Plumlee in the 2019 OM game. OM fans thought he was the next Archie Manning after that game.

If memory serves, JD5 has had a couple of magnificent games in which he threw for about 80 yards. That your definition of good QB play?

Remember that killer turnover that JD5 had against Texas AnM.? Strip and score for them…..that hurt LSU and we didn’t win……. Remember?

Yes . Absolutely correct . I think JD is about as “ coached up “ as it gets . He has plateaued . CBK and staff should develop WH and Nuss and see who they want at starter from those two . I would let Nuss start and WH play some in the bowl game .
JD needs to move on . He may get a shot on an NFL developmental squad somewhere .

I agree completely. Give JD5 a pat on the rear and say thanks for the memories, but we have some championships to win. Somehow I do not think that Kelly sees it that way and we will be looking at 5 all next year with Nuss at another team possibly killing it.

Nuss drops back quickly , has a quick release and throws a beautiful ball . He is a pocket passer , but plenty quick enough to get the job done . Remember , he has not played a full college game . JD has played 4 years . JD has issues reading defenses and knowing where to go with the ball . Decisional paralysis lots of times . JD needs to move on . We thank him for his contribution , but this is not a charity . SEC highly paid coaches are expected to win games in a highly competitive environment .

Longer answer is 2 quarters in a blowout game where you commit 2 turnovers does not equal 13 games and every day of practice.

Kelly, Denbrock, Sloan watch these guys and Walker btw and have determined JD5 gives us best chance.

So yeah the folks who see the QB room every day have better info than the random internet guy who saw 2 quarters.

The man needs some reps? How many more reps does JD5 need for the light to go on? Asking for a friend.

You are correct. The UGA defense just quit.

I say the man should have gotten more reps during games for example TAMU.

still think that 5 "gives LSU the best chance to win"? I'd like to hear why that may be so.

Because I’ve seen Nuss play before

Also I tend to trust the judgement of the coaches that watch these guys everyday over fans, especially since it is so unusual for fans to clamor for the back up QB

Why?
He looked very well prepared and ready Saturday afternoon.

Because Harris came in when we were way behind and led us to three scores. It was a similar situation.

Let’s hope though we have a much better outcome this time.
