Can you read? Choup's own link proves he lied when he said LSU "committments" were withdrawing their committment. There is nothing in the post he linked which says LSU ever offered the kid much less the kid was a committment.

LSU showed some interest in the kid. Kid gets excited thinking he might get to play for the Tigers. Kid's parents get excited. Parent's friends get excited. LSU coaches decide the kid isn't good enough and lose interest. Kid gets pissed. Parents get pissed. Friends get pissed and post shite about the coaches on a message board. Sour grapes. It happens.

Stop being an idiot.

Again, you severely overstate the talent level of that team.

Mikie Mahtook, 1st round draft pick, was top 3 in the SEC in basically every batting category that year.
Katz, 4th round draft pick, would lead the SEC in HRs his final year
Jacoby Jones, 3rd round draft pick, physical talent speaks for itself
Ralph Rhymes, 15th round draft pick, college hitting talent speaks for itself

Yea, that lineup was just OK. (Oh and Austin Nola was 5th round draft pick, although admittedly mostly on defensive prowess.)

And you are right, teams get into slumps. And if a talented team slumps too much up and down the whole lineup, the coaches should take the blame.

Katz was a sophomore, first year starter. Jones was a freshman and Rhymes was a sophomore juco transfer, so both obviously first time starters. They all had good years, but what happens with an inexperienced lineup? They can be inconsistent. And it is still laughable you mention Watkins and Edward as great.

He actually was a commitment at one point.

He said the lineup was great, not specifically those two players who were obviously the worst ones out of the 9 players listed.

Stop being a dick and putting words in his mouth.

The lineup had multiple great hitters, but no lineup has 9 great hitters. I never said that the team had 9 great hitters or that Edwards or Watkins were great individually. I find it laughable that you are the one bringing them up. I guess that goes to show what kind of bias you have in the discussion.

And again, it is the coaches job to keep a team consistent. Javi had experienced and inexperienced talent to work with that year, and he failed to have it produce consistently. He has failed too often keeping this team consistently able to punish mediocre SEC pitching.

He listed those 9 and later said it was a "team full of great hitters". He even said it was one of the more talented LSU lineups of all time. That's just absurd and we both know that.

This definitely sounds like a well thought out, objective measurement.

Probably...we always want someone fired.

For the last 3 yrs our hitting ranked 3rd, 2nd, and 4th in the SEC. Our pitching ranked 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd.

Doesn't seem bad enough for anyone to get their panties in a wad over, but each to our own.
