And he coaches baseball. Talk about having a fallback plan...

I mean, if you want to make a thing about it, our coaching staff has 7 guys on our website.

Three of which are officially on the payroll and allowed to recruit off campus. How does that contradict anything that has been stated?

Nothing, really. I find this "argument" going on somewhat difficult to follow as I don't really know what point some people are attempting to make.

I think someone suggested we create a recruiting only position. At least I hope so because the point I was trying to make is that it couldn't be done.

But we don't have those guys on the field during the games

There can be extra positions created

It's just a thought, because Javi is an asset recruiting, and BCPM loves him like a son... But apparently there's no way it's going to happen so...

How does Will Davis continue to coach our baseball team in a volunteer capacity? I very much value his service to our team, but damn. He must get some serious financial assistance from the summer camps.

It's sad how desperate you are to prove me wrong about anything.

A team can have three paid on-field coaches and they are the only coaches allowed to contact recruits.

LSU has 7 coaches on their staff.

Only Mainieri, Dunn and Sanchez can make contact with recruits.

Davis is a volunteer assistant, Edward is a student assistant, Phillips is the strength coach and Cain is the operations director. None of them can be involved in the recruiting process when it comes to contacting recruits.

Who cares what Mingione studied in college, he yelled for our relay guy to "cut 2".

You forgot to add "officially". Because it does happen.

My #1 example of Javi medocrity will always be 2011, which saw a lineup of: Mahtook, Rhymes, Jones, Katz, Hanover, Edwards, Watkins, Nola, and Ross.

LSU scored little to no runs in SEC play while sending a team full of great hitters to the plate

First off you have a very loose interpretation of the term "great hitter". Watkins? Edward? Spencer Ware started games for that team for crying out loud.

And most of the players you mentioned had good or great years.

I'm sure he does. But that still doesn't have anything to do with the recruiting restrictions.

Dude, it was a typo. If I was worried about it I would have edited about 2 hours before you saw it. But go ahead, you got me.

Does it have to be? It was a question in a thread about baseball coaching staffs. Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't be upset if Javi left. The guy is a nobody who has gotten lucky with agents ( or advisors ) doing his job for him. But that's not going to be happening anymore with what went down this spring.

I don't suppose it has to be, but since it was related to the ongoing discussion I thought it was intended to be.

So if it wasn't intended to show how the recruiting position could be created, and was just a random thought about Will Davis, I apologize and all I can really say is thanks for the dynamite drop in Monty.
