he can immediately come in and compete and even beat Saban.

Link?

quote:

Herman has been a head coach for two seasons and I honestly do not know if I trust his inexperience.

In those two years, he has spanked Jimbo's much more talented team in a NY6 bowl and just spanked a top-5 team that laid a 63-20 whipping on Jimbo's still much more talented team.

I don't presume to know who should be, or certainly not who will be, our new coach, but Herman seems to be doing as well as Jimbo with less experience and less talent to work with.

I think your irrational fear of Saban is an embarrassment to the fan base and the team, please stop posting and turn in your man card

Coaches who have beaten Saban in recent memory:

Gus Malzahn
Kevin Sumlin
Hugh Freeze

He's not some magical fricking leprechaun.

The reality is no one can just come in and beat Saban right away . Reason being is Saban has got 5 (Or however many) top recruiting classes . Until someone comes in and recruits on his level I don't see things changing overnight . It doesn't matter who LSU brings in.

At the same time I feel like Herman offers a systematic advantage over the other candidates . If we could retain Aranda along with getting Herman this would be the best case scenario. Obviously keeping orgeron would be awesome for the recruiting advantage but that seems impossible.

CEO's team went toe to toe with this year's Saban team without an OC. Stop being a wuss. LSU will go toe to toe with the gumps every year with rare exception.

If you hold Bama to 10 points, you should beat them or any other team you play. We have to have an OC that can call plays to take what Bama gives us. Guice was underused, no wheel routes. No quick dumps to the tight ends, etc., etc. whole 2nd half offense was Les Miles handing off to Fournette. You're never going to have the athletes Saban has, but we're closer than anybody else. Our staff gets paid way too much money to lose to those guys in our house. The OC needs to be held accountable.

Do yall not remember Jimbo when he was here? Nobody liked his play calls

And what makes you think a guy that worked for Nick is gonna out coach him?

If Nick has history, film, or time.... if is damn near impossible to beat. His resume says so.

Well, damn let's just go cheap on our next coach and wait til Saban leaves. Such silliness. Alabama is beatable. Satan is beatable.

Jimbo has consistently been a 3-4 loss coach at FSU in a mediocre ACC division. Why does everyone think he will all the sudden be a national title coach on a consistent basis?

Jimbo with the team he has now would be curbed stomped by Coach Ed O. Right now. Jimbo has been recruiting in the worlds greatest hotbed of talent with Florida and Miami down. He can't beat Dabo. This will go down and the worlds worse hire if it comes to pass. Herman yes, Dumbo no. Or just keep ED.

With the weapons and leadership that O has at his disposal, i'd say for sure that Jimbo and Herman are capable. And maybe a few others.

Please don't make the success or failure of an LSU coach be determined by how he does against Saban. We are setting LSU up for a coaching carousel. Don't do this! Judge a coach by the overall strength of the program.

If LSU really is all in on Jimbo and has the money to pay him what he wants.

Why not just offer the kitchen sink to the biggest names out there pro or college and see if it anything sticks

Why are people so sure Jimbo can beat Saban? He's got enough problems with Dabo.
