Yes he is fired even 8-4 LSU now wants championships the TAF will make Alleva's job a living hell if he does not make a move for a championship caliber head coach.
BTW Miles knows this and hired backups for his 2 weakest coaches. Wilkerson for STud.. and Gonzales for CRowton incase we start off with a struggling offense and a couple early loses. He'll take the pressure off himself and blame it on the offense.

He would not necessarily be fired. There could be a season of unprecedented parity in college football in which Duke wins the ACC with a record of 7 and 6. Rutgers is the consensus number 1 at 8 and 4 and LSU squeaks out the SEC title over Vandy and goes on to the national championship game against Rutgers…then Les would keep his job at 7-5…..otherwise he’s gone pecan.

If LSU loses to N. Carolina, you can go ahead and say bye bye to Miles.
You can take that to the bank and your lotto ticket Prominentwon

i wouldnt give the sob an extension unless he wins the SEC title, and then i might give him a 1 or 2 year extension...i certainly wouldnt give him anything long term again
So say he wins the SEC. That would be 3 SEC west titles, 2 SEC championships, 3 BCS bowls (possible another NC game) in 6 years. That doesn't deserve a long term contract?

If Miles goes 8-4 he's fired. 9-3? Good chance he's fired as well.
There's a better chance of the Saints trading Drew Brees for Trent Edwards than LSU keeping Miles around after a 7-5 season.

hey brah, Miles isn't getting rid of Mallory and Peveto either, right? Your sources were gold then.

7-5 with two La cupcakes on the schedule breaks down to 5-5 for a McClendon era season when we would never have thought of playing those guys. That would suck as badly as Mac's last years and yes he would be gone, but not till 2011.
He could also go 8-4 or 9-3 for the next two years without beating Saban and Nutt and be history.

No. Going to a bowl = Miles keeping his job.
A 6-6 or 7-5 season means assistants will be lossing jobs, but Miles keeps his.

Miles' contract was extended in 2007 for a year when all the hub-bub about Michigan came up during the SEC Championship Game. Now, it doesn't expire until 12/31/2012. And, our wonderful administrators up'ed the buyout from $10 million to $15 million. That's an awfully big buyout.

You should talk liquid rabbit.
Why is it so damn hard for guys like you and Prominentwon to grasp the idea taht a 8-4, 7-5 record in college football ain't gonna cut it. REGARDLESS IF YOU WON THE NATIONAL CHAMP. Do you not understand that finishing 2nd or 3rd in the SEC West means nothing more than a losing season!
Yea for winning the Peach Bowl, who gives a phuck!

I would say no. A losing record would be a yes however I really doubt that happens. I'm still predicting 10-3 including a bowl win.

Choctaw- If we win the west we'll be good enough to beat Florida and play Ohio State for the NC.
Melty Rabbit- define non delusional. If you are alluding to the power of the TAF to influence Alleva think again and also If tickets sales are down Alleva WILL have to make a change

At 7-5, he should be fired. Too much talent on this team.
Uncertainty at QB, no depth at DL, offensive playcalling all ultimately fall on his shoulders.
-We have a JR QB. No excuses there.
-He could have replace Crowton. None there.
-DL should be better with Chavis in his second year (I'm hoping/assuming)
7-5 gets him fired or LSU will have to find another Saban to rebuild the program in 3-4 years.

Point out to me the coach who was fired 3 years after a NC while maintaining a winning record.

Signed,
Steve Pederson (The guy who fired Frank Solich and hired Callahan and set Nebraska back 10 years)
Why is it so damn hard for guys like Lee to grasp the idea that 8-4 or 7-5 is a winning season? Miles isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I mean Bob Stoops went 8-5 last year and wasn't even ranked at the end of the season and wasn't fired. JoePa went 7-16 in '03-'04. Jim Tressel went 8-4 in 2004 and is still at tOSU. Kirk Ferentz was 12-13 in 2006-2007. Frank Beamer has gone 8-4, 8-5 & 9-3 various times. Mark Richt was 8-5 last year and unranked and is back this season and doesn't have half the resume of Miles.
