I think they said Gavin himself pronounces the “s”.
But for 95% of the people I know with that surname, the “s” is silent.

Yes, Dugas is pronounced without the s for most in Louisiana. However, Gavin Dugas the baseball player pronounces the s. The LSU media guys have all been told that which is why they all pronounce the s.
