Yes. It is when the lack of it makes it easy for teams to shut us down.

Apparently money is the pseudo issue that prevented LSU from making a move.

Therefore LSU football should emphatically be judged on cost versus performance.

Right now LSU is paying the highest amount in CFB for coaches with unequal return in results.

You are correct. Taking an average of our post season poll rankings the last 5 years gives you 14, but none of us are Miles' boss, negotiate his contracts, or sign his paychecks. I don't fault him for wanting to be paid well, and I don't the think he's not working his tail off to make the program great. It's the nature of the beast. Head coach gets the vast majority of the blame when things go bad and the credit when things go well. Unless you're Miles. Then you get all the blame and Saban gets all the credit.

This is pretty dumb.

LSU has the highest paid coaching staff and has gone 14-10 in the SEC last 3 seasons.

Saban gets credit because Alabama isn't the highest paid coaching staff and they've lost 3 SEC games in the same timeframe. Not one to LSU, btw.

What is Miles known for that another coach couldn't do?

We are the only major college in Louisiana. After one year of a slight drop in recruiting (same thing happened when Saban left), we'll be right back up again. Get an offensive minded coach who knows how to get the best out of Louisiana QBs, pay top dollar for a great DC (Ed O), and keep recruiters like Wilson and make him OC or Co-OC.

Y'all are crazy if you believe LSU would do worse than Miles has done the past 3 years with a guy like Tom Herman running the show.

I was referring to the old "Miles won with Saban's players" line, not the past 3 years. And Saban is the highest paid coach in college football and apparently Michael Jordan. LINK He doesn't need a staff. I wonder if Texas, Penn State and Auburn think they're getting their money's worth. We know South Carolina didn't this year.

Everyone of the "fans" that use the word mediocre about LSU should strip naked and stand in front of a mirror. THAT is the best definition of mediocre they could ever see.

I think that's a little short-sighted considering the composition of the SEC West compared to the rest of college football.

WTF? You want us to judge our performance not by how we do in our division or conference but how we would do in CUSA Mid America or Mountain West?

When you have a top 5 revenue generating athletic departments, you are mediocre as frick when you lose 3-4 games a year. Its the very definition.

Quit trying to justify LSUs failures. fricking loser's mentality. Need a new coach but we made that possibility a long ways from now.

And we will pay for that mistake dearly.

I'd just like to point out we,had then exact same SEC record this year that we did in '01 when we won the SEC. Backed into that due to a much worse conference then. Of course we finished by beatin Tennessee and Illinois in the Sugar, but that team didn't have a better regular season than this. And they are thought of as an all-time great team. Super fun to watch. Mainly because of Rohan to Reed. Buts they still lost 3 games.
