No they aren’t.

It’s a tournament bracket. Just like March madness.

And it has been like this since they instituted the national seeds and super regionals in 1999.

Clever. I laughed. Explain how it’s seeded please.

It’s now just a 64-team tournament. Someone above posted the whole bracket. Winners advance along the lines - as someone said earlier if Nicholas advances to the CWS they’ll take the “#1 seed” line. But they will not be seeded #1.

In other words, the only time these seeds actually matter is for the purposes of determining who hosts super regionals.

They don’t decide game times and day until the supers is over so they can account for rain delays in supers.

Explaining NCAA baseball tournament

Looks like few people could use a refresher!

Apparently I was wrong but no one wants to explain the seeding.

Two regionals are paired to play in the super. Two supers are paired for game one of the CWS. Two game ones of the CWS are paired to play in the winners/losers bracket in your second game of the CWS.

There is no reseeding. Where you are now you can look at the bracket and know which teams you have a possibility of playing.

Only LSU Fans. Have gone 5-5 over last 10 games and played 1 ranked team over that stretch and now they are talking about who they are going to be match up against in Omaha.

Wrong. If you’re gonna try to flame your team at least get the facts correct at least.

Think of it like this. The top 8 seeds are not only tied to the team (i.e. LSU #5), but it is tied to everyone in our regional and the regional we are paired with (Kentucky #12). So it doesn’t matter if LSU, Kentucky or even Tulane wins the super, they will play in the same slot in Omaha). So yes, Tulane can make it Omaha with a better matchup than Vandy In Game 1

We will play Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, or Southern Miss in our first game in Omaha.

And probably Wake in our second game in Omaha after we win Game1.

Supers start on Friday for one side of the bracket and start on Saturday for the other side. Seems that in the past whichever side of the bracket that had the Supers starting on Friday also played the first day of the CWS. Maybe that's changed? If it hasn't, then we will know next week when Supers are set which day our side of the bracket plays in Omaha.

Winston Salem Winner vs. Tuscaloosa Winner in Supers
Stanford Winner vs. Coral Gables winner in Supers

The two Super Winners will play H2H in Omaha in the first round on a undetermined day

Clemson winner vs. Auburn winner in Supers
Baton Rouge winner vs. Lexington winner in Supers

The two Supers will play H2H in Omaha in the first round on the same day of the WS/Tusc vs. Stan/Coral. days are also undetermined

winner of the first game in Omaha will play the winner of the second game in Omaha, the loser of the first game will also play the loser of the second game in Omaha.

Winston Salem, Tuscaloosa, Stanford, Coral Gables, Clemson, Auburn, Baton Rouge, and Lexington ARE not going to face each other in the CWS Championship. only ONE team from that Regional will represent Bracket 1 or Bracket 2 in the CWS Championship.

The same rule applies to the other bracket Fayetteville, Terre Haute, Nashville, Stillwater, Gainesville, Columbia, Charlottesville and Conway.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, that was the best explanation. I knew how it worked until Omaha, I assumed the highest seed present would get the highest seed spot. I knew there wasn’t a reseed, just made sense the way I was thinking. Appreciate you taking the time.
