People think the ONLY way you beat them tonight is if Skenes STARTS. It’s silly n

I dont think anyone is worried about potential damage pitching on 4 days rest, more just being out of rhythm for first time this season than what he's used to which is 5-6 days rest.

also showing Nola giving up 13 runs in a 3 game stretch on back to back 5 day tests maybe isn’t you best argument
This better? The point is he was wrong. It’s common for pro pitchers to pitch on 4 days rest.

That’s tourney young favorite….

He may not have had the best argument, but they all go on 4-5 days rest routinely. Just at random for a college pitcher who recently made the transition I looked at Spencer Strider. In May he had 6 starts: 3 starts on 5 days rest and 3 starts on 4 days rest. In 4 of those 6 games he threw over 100 pitches.

That’s not really the alternatives here. LSU has to win 3 of their next 4 games, but one of those 3 HAS to be tonight. The game tonight is the most important game remaining. Other games can potentially be lost or not played at all. If Skenes can pitch to 100% capacity without restrictions, then pitching tonight is absolutely the right call. If he is limited then it makes sense to go with Hurd, unless he is likewise limited. Either way, maximizing the chances of winning tonight is the way to maximize the chance of winning 3 of 4 unless you are reducing Skenes’ effectiveness in the one game he will pitch.

But thinking we can’t beat Florida isn’t silly?

2 sample’s definitely prove that

Framber Valdez has pitched on 4 days rest just once this year, his 2nd start, LINK

But those guys are pros who are conditioned for it. Quinn Mathews threw 156 pitches in the SR, his next start in Omaha he gave up 10 hits and 4ER in 4.2, how effective he might be on short rest is a valid concern

Well, yes it definitely does prove the statement “pros don’t pitch on 4 days rest” wrong

The op is certainly implying that in his responses.

Its actually worse. He says only the best pitch on even 5 days rest

They pitch on 5 days rest, and only the best ones do that regularly.
