Do not be surprised if Florida vs LSU is 2:30 CBS game that week.

Apparently CBS will have already showed Georgia as much they are allowed to this regular season with the selection of UGA Missouri next week.

ESPN likely takes the Ole Miss vs UGA game at night the week of the LSU Florida game, thus leaving the 2:30 spot available for Florida vs LSU.

Don’t mind that at all to be honest.

I'm all for night games but 2:30 games in November are actually pretty nice

I think contractually they only get one game in the 7:30 ET primetime slot a year (that SEC slot belongs to Disney family of networks). LSU v Bama is that game this year.

ETA: read your original post wrong, my bad on which network for night game. I'll be happy with any spot other than 11:00 AM or 8:00 PM Central.

CBS gets first pick

UGA has already had THREE games on CBS (two in the 2:30 window) and will have their fourth of the season this weekend against Florida.

On Nov vs Mizzou the Nov 4th that will be there FIFTH CBS game and 4th in that 2:30 time slot and I sincerely doubt CBS will want UGA in the 2:30 time slot three weeks in a row especially because there is a solid chance they ay be right back in the 2:30 window on Nov 18.

The entire SEC west plays crappy OOC games that week and the SEC east slate so they're going to have to pick between Mizzou and UF or UGA and Tennessee.

I agree that the LSU/UF game will be at 2:30 but just for the reasons you mentioned.

If CBS takes Mizzou/UT for 2:30, then ESPN will take LSU/UF for the night game unless there is a better matchup.

LSU beats Bama and LSU/UF will be the marquee matchup at 2:30. 2:30 in November isn't so bad. The sunset at the beginning of the 4th is iconic.

Do you think Mizzou vs Tennessee in Columbia would draw more viewership than Uf vs LSU in Tiger stadium?

I honestly think this decision will get flexed until November 5 but there is no way in hell CBS is going to let the chance to put LSU in 2:30m window with a Heisman Candidate (possible front runner) freshly coming off a road victory against Alabama slide through their fingertips for Missouri and Tennessee in Columbia.

If the decision is announced next Monday, LSU and UF will play at 2:30. If it's pushed back the 2:30 game on Nov 11 hinges on what happens Nov 4.

The third most watched CFB game this year is Colorado vs Colorado State. The sixth highest was Colorado vs Nebraska. The tenth highest was a a 21st ranked Tennessee vs an unranked Florida.

TV Viewership is not on a sliding scale with rankings.

Florida and LSU were respectively the 7th and 11th most watched college football teams in 2022. Missouri was the 50th most ranked college football team last year behind teams like Georgia Tech, BYU and Illinois.

LSU and Auburn drew 2.16 million viewers a couple weeks ago and still out-drew teams like FSU and UCLA.

Anyone at CBS making your argument would be fired tomorrow.

two ranked two loss (most likely) teams is a bigger draw than two three loss teams (most likely) with only one of them being ranked, and the ranked team coming off of a loss

and lol at bringing colorado/coach prime ratings into this.

Brand name recognition, venues, stories and background trumps rankings and records. But, I am happy to take the bet if you want even now BEFORE the LSU/Bama game is played and LSU likely adds another loss.

Let's bet a bottle of bourbon or tequila on it.

What do you say?

Why, is that because popular stories trump rankings?

Wrong. Beating Florida at night is iconic
