Very stupid of him to motivate the LSU coach, players and fans like he did, right?

And also to totally ruin any possible chance of playing LSU.

In their minds though, we will just continue to be pussies for not playing them instead of them realizing their coach being a shitbag is the biggest reason.

Was he right on saying we don’t play often? Yes, because we haven’t played since 2008 and I think we would be a better challenge than a North Florida or a SWAC team.

Should he had been a little more reserved about it? Yes. He basically gave LSU free bulletin board material.

I think before last night/this week LSU may have been open to playing ULL in the PMAC in the future, but Marlin wanted a home and home... No way would we go for that

It’s never about WHAT is said, it’s always about HOW it’s said.

If his goal was to play LSU more, he could have framed it much better. Instead he decided to shite on everything LSU basketball related.

If you want to go to homecoming with Suzy, you shouldn’t push her in a mud puddle.

They're so butthurt that they want to cancel a game in which the proceeds go to charity.

I'm glad their baseball coach actually has some sense and is a good person. Their fans are fricking terrible.

A home and home might be something LSU would never accept, but I wouldn't mind a 2-1 or even a 3-1. That would be more than fair. I remember LSU traveling to Houston a few years ago against a similar team that we had this season. I think it would be great on both ends.

Houston's 3-year RPI average is like 20-30 points higher than ULL's though, 3 for 1 maybe, but not sure LSU would ever travel to Lafayette... Also moving forward I'd bet Wade is going to be scheduling tougher OOC teams (VCU is on the schedule already)

The other moronic part is that it’s Wade’s first year. Like WW would walk into the LSU gig and have ULL on a list of his top 1000 priorities. If you are in a weaker position you build relationships and good will with the new guy, you don’t bum rush him with insults and hysterical ranting. Wtf , that’s just basic emotional intelligence you would expect a High School kid to instinctively understand.

Houston is better than ULL at everything. When is the last time an SEC team played in the Cajundome?

That's pretty reasonable. With the home/home matchups LSU has set up for the next couple of years (Houston, Memphis, VCU), if we are going to sacrifice another ooc home game it better be for a P5 caliber team. If you can't get that done, you're better off giving your season ticket holders another chance to watch the Tigers at home. A straight home and home doesn't benefit LSU in any way at all.

I wouldn't mind that either, just because the game would create more interest than playing a North Florida...But you realize that your coach totally blew any chances of that ever happening, right? At least as long as he is the HC.

Wade is doing it right by scheduling some good OOC competition. Plus, with the players he will be bringing in soon, there's no reason not to baptize them with a Memphis or VCU. But at the same time, Marlin was also looking at it from a longer time frame. Since 1944, the two schools have maybe played 3 times(?) up until last night, which was a forced game by the NIT. Again, we aren't a Michigan; but we are better than a North Florida or Alcorn State.

eta: while Marlin is still coaching at least. not to completely burn the bridge
