re: Did USL really bring more fans to the softball game than to the baseball game?

Because its a fact, Oh LA LA fans dont respond well to facts. My tax dollars go to your schools athletic dept. The athletic dept pays for travel cost. My tax dollars paid for your welfare team to come play at Alex Box. As long as i'm footing the bill i'll talk as much shite and throw out as many facts i please.
As an "Oh LA LA" fan and grad, I'll go ahead an respond to this. Tickets were hard to come across for the LSU matchup. I was able to get tickets for the game from my parents, so we sat in the section with the Cajun fans. I attended the game Friday night, but I had previous commitments Saturday and most of Sunday. Luckily, I was able to squeeze out a ticket at the last minute last night before the LSU game.
As for your "tax dollar" rant, LSU athletics wasn't privately funded until the early 2000's when the TAF was created. So, since the days of Huey Long (1920s) up until then, people in the state were doing the same thing for almost 80 years LSU's program as well. Not every school has that luxury like LSU does now.

If a ULL fan wanted to be at the game, a lot more than showed up could have been at the game.

Too bad the people in the state got such a shitty return on their tax dollars that went to ULL sports compared to what they got with LSU sports.

Were you there? Did you not see that almost every seat in the place was filled up?

Well, when LSU is the only school sold in the state for 80+ years and got a majority of the funding, I would hope they'd succeed with their athletic program.

About 15-20 LSU fans including myself were selling tickets outside before each ULL game and yall did not have enough fans looking to buy tickets.

this excuse still?
Well it's true. It's easy for a fan of a school successful in sports to say this.

When your own school's web site is posting that the game is sold out, you think people are gonna drive the distance to risk not getting a ticket when they can just watch it on tv/computer?

UL has few baseball fans. Unlike lsu whose baseball fans are really football fans. Plus UL couldn't get tickets thanks to the way tickets were sold

Are you this ignorant about everything in life, or just LSU baseball?

And it's easy for a fan of a little sister school to use the weakest excuse possible to disregard the success of one of the best athletic programs in the country.

I agree that more UL fans should have showed up, but to be fair, wasn't it very difficult to get tickets to any games if you are not an LSU baseball season ticket holder?
I know for a fact that season ticket holders get first dibs at regional tickets, and they are sold only in all-session books. So when almost all the season ticket holders buy their regional seats, that sells out those seats for every game. Most LSU fans are not going to go to the non-LSU games, so unless these fans re-sold or posted their tickets on the Ticket Marketplace, how could a UL fan get access to tickets? Especially the better seats, i.e. what we all see on TV.

And tax payers like myself were still footing the bill for Oh LA LA and still are so i don't know what kind of point you're trying to make. Right now, present day. Myself and many LSU alumni like me are still footing the bill for your welfare university. Your shitty university is sucking this state dry with the state getting little to nothing in return. This state would be way better off with out Oh LA LA.

It's amazing the amount of heads up asses on this board. GTFO of here with your bullshite "taxpayer" crap. UL has the smallest subsidy from it's state than any other school in the Sun Belt. The overwhelming majority of our athletic budget comes from the tax payers Take your pompous flaming arse and jump off a cliff you worthless piece of shite. Lafayette has the most 60k millionaires per capita in the United States. I don't think we need your pitty.

If you really think that LSU raised funds similar to the TAF for 80+ years, then you're just downright delusional. State funding played a huge role.
By no means am I trying to make excuses, but if you think that LSU success just magically appeared all of these years......
