re: Did our 2024 Run Game suck, is Brad Davis terrible, or maybe we just didn't run enough?

I think it’s bc we ran the same play about 75% of the time
Shotgun
Hand off lead to the left or right
No gain
2 yards
1 yard

So sick of that play
So predictable

I think the limitations on creativity here may have been because of our OL. As shown earlier in the season, they were not very good at pulling so I think they limited the calls here. Hopefully we're more athletic so we can be more creative with the calls this year. Clemson should be a great test for LSU.

His teams at notre dame ran the ball fine.

When we needed it, we couldn't do it. Bottom line

Nobody cares about running up stats against South Alabama

373 Rushing Attemps last year totaling just over 1500 yards. Avg run was 4.1 yards a carry. Those are SOLID numbers. UGA averaged 4.1 YAC UT Averaged 4.4 YAC Both playoff teams.
Our running game sucked.

UGA and UT made the playoffs because they had better defense, and because UGA had a passing threat during the regular season. Both lost in their first playoff games.

quote:

Emery 6.1 YAC

Didn't start, came in and provided a spark, got hurt and lost for the season.
quote:

Durham 5.4 YAC

Legit threat that emerged fairly early in the season, got hurt and lost some of his effectiveness. Otherwise he could have had a 1k season, I think.
quote:

Williams 4.1 YAC
Jackson 3.4 YAC
Williams was steady, but not good. Jackson was lost out there.

So we had 2 threats, lost one in the first game, the second emerged and then fell off. The other two guys didn't move the needle. If we keep Durham's toes intact, we'll be ok.

That's exactly what they've been known for throughout his career. Until LSU, anyway.
