Did Kim’s press conference today make it harder for SW to fire PM?

Assuming it was on His mind. I loved her press conference and everything she brings to the table for LSU women’s basketball but, while listening, I couldn’t help but think that the things she said about PM would make it harder for SW to fire him. I mean she had some glowing remarks about him that gave me an uneasy feeling, knowing how the baseball team has performed this year.

Paul is not getting fired after this season. He may retire, but he's not getting fired.

If Kim Mulkey was AD, she’d fire Paul herself.

Kramer likes Paul.

Well she did call him out for piss-poor pitching management!

Do we really think he’s going to get fired?

Let me explain the mentality of Scott Woodward real quick.
Scott is a bad motherfricker that has a tremendous amount of confidence in himself to get the job done. He also loves LSU.
Much like all the pussies crying 3 months ago about him accepting mediocrity in the women’s BB program - Scott knows he has the resource and the power to go get a bad Mfer to hang banners in Alex box.
Alphas don’t allow the opinion of their subordinates o dictate his decision making.
Scott doesn’t give a frick what Kim jinks about baseball

I wouldn’t hate if she was our future AD.

It’s amazing how people think the rants pulse on how a coach is actually doing is real life.
Newsflash ranters PAWL is no way gettting fired this year. If we don’t make the postseason his seat gets warm. That’s about it.
Now he may retire but that’s a different conversation

I don’t think anyone is actually expecting up to fire Paul

Not officially - but we might encourage him to retire.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Woodward fires him or forces him to retire/resign. Woodward might bow to the woke crowd but he doesn't want to see the baseball team as a joke any more than the fans do. I think he pulls the trigger one way or another. I mean dude went and got who he wants for a wbb coach. He isn't going to watch baseball go down the toilet anymore imo.

The admin wants him to retire

Not if she thinks PM is a good baseball coach. The opposite is waaaaay beyond obvious.

Lol. Yes he will. You can call it forced retirement if you want, but he's going to get told to leave. Woodward just spent 2.5 mil a year on a women's bball coach, a program that has never and will never make lsu any money. You think he isn't going to get rid of paul? A head coach in a sport that carries its own weight and some within our athletic dept? Get real. He's gone.

One more time.....
Woodward isn't going to fire Mainieri.
There's a certain degree of gamesmanship at play here on both sides. Mainieri has a CWS championship and, believe it or not, still has a sheep pen of supporters. On the other hand, Woodward is the boss.
Mainieri's documented neck issues haven't gone away, so the feeling is that he would welcome a face-saving exit and a retirement graced with hosannas.
Fair enough. LSU can give him that.
Mainieri is owed $3.675 million through the rest of his contract ($1.125 mil for three years, plus $100K bonuses each year for still being employed).
An educated guess would be that in exchange for PM's retirement "for health reasons" after this season, Woodward could offer him his full 2022 salary of $1.125 mil.
That won't break anyone's bank.
So let's just give him a big teary-eyed retirement party after the season. Retire his No. 1 jersey. Have Skip sing "Thanks for the Memories." And then we can all move on.

When she cracked that joke about Paul leaving the pitcher on the mound too long, God damn

I mean heaven forbid she has a good relationship with him. Not every former player/parent hates PM like the Rant would like to think.
