LSU will remain open
Taxes will increase as they probably should have since we didnt increase them prior or reduce the budget previously.

Threatening the most recognizable part of Louisiana is a bitch move.

From a college /university stand point, Louisiana has entirely to many 4 year college's. Look at the number of junior colleges our neighbors have. They are operated at a much cheaper rate and allows students to get their BS classes out of the way. Tennessee is making JC tuition free for in state students and they do not have a state tax. Maybe we should elect some of them down here, instead of all the idiots we have, Democrats and Republicans! !!

He co-authored the stelly plan repeal bill.
He voted for 5 out of 8 Jindal budgets.

JBE did not create it but he was an accessory to it.

I'll agree with that. Plenty of blame to go around.

This is kind of true though. Geology student here. The Mississippi river is going to change course no matter how much money you throw at it even without the army corp of engineers. New Orleans and se Louisiana will wash away in a couple generations after the river shifts. Throwing money at it can save it for 100 years or so.

Unless you build the first domed city, which would be badass.

1,000,000 - that's a million. that's .1% of the amount of shortfall we have. I would have to print that out 3,000 times to get to 4 billion.

You should work for the government too!!! You could balance our budget in no time!!!

That absolutely will not happen. Classes, especially at LSU, will go on.

well, considering he's been on office about 6 months and Jindal was there 8 years go figure.

the PROBLEM is simple; Louisiana has an above avg tax revenue stream. so where's the damn money going. the constitution protects just about every program; they are "sacred cows".

what is NOT protected is health care and education.

therefore, when the damn politicians overspend and revenues trend downward (like in oil crunches and recessions) the ONLY place they can cut is health care and education.

the solution is also simple; change the constitution and have some REAL budget evaluations. there are too many state employees and some programs are unnecessary. CUT THEM, or seriously reduce them.

legislators have no balls. THE VOTERS are ultimately to blame. I love Louisiana but hate the cowardly legislature.

So what about the other state schools? ULL, McNeese State, etc... why they aren't mentioned in his doomsday message?
