Absolutely correct about Dick Vitale. He protects his friends and buries those that aren’t.
I don’t know how this plays out for Self and Kansas but IF the NCAA is successful in this pursuit and gets Self on Lack of Institutional Control and/or other Level 1 violations stemming from shoe company reps and runners——damn near every D1 program is at risk.
They basically allege these shoe company reps and runners are “boosters” and any assistance given the coach knew or should have known. That’s a near impossible standard for a D1 coach recruiting top 50-100 type players.
Some of these kids and their families have been in contact with those reps from age 10 or so.
Kansas is basically saying If these kids were paid we didn’t know about it and should not be held responsible. We will see if that works for them.

Dick throws LSU under the bus knowing that more than 30 schools were in the reports and many long time NCAA powers.

There have been reported text messages from Self's phone to one of the shoe company reps insinuating payment for top players and Self says words to the effect of "that's how Duke and Carolina do it." So yes, he, and every coach that goes after the top players is as guilty as Wade is.
One thing I am CONFIDENT of. If the general survives this, (and i think he will due to his ncaa attorney) and stays 20+ years, we will be the Duke of the south. I really think we have the Saban of basketball in BR.

Yep, Dick did two LSU games in 2019, both of which LSU won in 2019, and mentioned Dale more than he did WW. In fact he barely mentioned WW in either broadcast.
Dale was quoted in an SI article in the late 80's saying he was waiting in a parking lot with a suitcase of cash to give a recruit, but "changed his mind" at the last minute and drove off. I think it was the "Crazy Days at LSU" article that included Bob Broadhead wiretapping an interview with an NCAA official at Dale's request, according to Broadhead, which eventually led to Broadhead's dismissal.
But all Dick talks about when he does LSU games is what a travesty it is that the court isn't named after Dale.
You see, Dale is one of his buddies, and he will not speak ill of one of his old buddies, a fact that is blatantly obvious and overtly hypocritical.

It’s so dumb now that the NCAA is trying to let players to get paid for use of their likeness. It’s like somebody getting arrested today for weed possession. Mofo that shite is like legal now errywhere
