Whether or not people are happy with that process isn't the same as answering the question. He promised a big name and had to deliver it. Doesn't look like he really studied the offense nor the personality of the guy running it. Sounds like what I'd expect out of him quite frankly. This whole thing has been a clown show.
I think the offense looks gimmicky but you can't argue with results. The struggles we had early in the year are pretty well explained by Lester's post. I think we will find out how good he really is next year (assuming he's here). New QB, no proven RBs or WRs, possibly several OL to replace.

Wtf is even a splash hire in your eyes? You keep saying it as a negative tone but fail to realize a coach can only become a splash hire with a successful back round
Why wouldn’t fans be happy with hiring Matt Canada when Kiffin took another job?
Y’all take any opportunity to bash O but goddamn you sound stupid right now

I was happy with Canada when O hired him. Now LSU fans are telling me it was a shite hire to begin with because Canada has red flags on his resume and a reputation of being insubordinate, and thats why he is leaving LSU.

It has nothing to do with "wants". He is the head coach at LSU in case you haven't noticed.

By pulling for the program to be successful? While arguing with idiots on a message board who are pulling for the program to crash?
You have it arse-backwards moron.

you're not getting it Lester. He wanted a splash hire and he got it....but in doing so he hired a guy that he clearly differs on philosophy with by a great deal. Why would you do that? You don't hire the guy and then strip down what makes his offense his offense.
I don't see how you're not understanding this and then calling others stupid. You paid a guy 1.2 fricking million dollars maybe you should determine whether or not you're on board with what he runs....right? Are you still not getting it?

Well, now we're being told that he's a problem and can't stay anywhere for a long period. Evidently, he's never happy and butts heads with other members of staffs. Moreover, we're being told that this was evident and to be expected.

Making a OC hire for any other reason other than he fits what you want in an offense philosophically indicates poor decision making.
Making a splash hire is a negative, because you're making a decision for the wrong reasons.

But this all pointless.
The fanbase is divided. Orgeron fans will flip anything to defend him and detractors will blame everything on him. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle and we will never know.
Either way, next year will be interesting.

You can’t just rely on turnovers. Would love to see other stats here.
3rd down defense: LSU ranked 36th
Other SEC teams above LSU:
Miss St - 12th
Auburn - 19th
Alabama - 21st
Florida - 22nd
Georgia - 24th
A&M - 30th
Opponent 1st downs (harder guage because offensive TOP factors in but they did well):
LSU ranked 13th
SEC ahead of LSU:
Miss St - #1
Bama - 6th
Florida 10th
We ranked 84th in turnovers and 58th in red zone defense (ironically Troy was #1).
Total defense we ranked 13th.
Bama #2
Georgia #4
Miss St #10
Auburn #14
One thing is clear. Miss St had a very good defense considering their level of talent.

I tell someone I want to buy a really nice car, top of the line. So I go out and buy a Ferrari but then get pissed off at the Ferrari because its not an SUV and that's what I really wanted all along.

BigJ just because he attempted to mettle in the offense for one game does not mean he disagrees with Canada’s philosophy.
To think that he didn’t know what he was getting when he hired him is a clown take

When one describes a clown show, it usually sounds like a clown take - until the truth comes out.

Or you’re running a business and your first choice passes you over & you take candidate 2 despite some differences to #1 because it’s best for your business

I think that's literally what it means.

to think he's ok with the offense when those close to O are saying he's not, is also a clown take

not if candidate #2 wants to run the business in a different direction that does not align with your strategic plan

I'm pretty sure he stated he wanted a different offense after the post-A&M presser didn't he?
