Hardly anyone thought that LSU was headed "down the shitter" as you put it in year one.
You know damn well that’s a lie...

you're not getting it Lester. He wanted a splash hire and he got it....but in doing so he hired a guy that he clearly differs on philosophy with by a great deal. Why would you do that? You don't hire the guy and then strip down what makes his offense his offense.
95/100 people LOVED the hire when it happened... now everyone hates it, well, because it gives them another opportunity to shite on O
Can you not see any hypocrisy there?

then decided he didn't like the offense and tried to pull the plug on it 4 games into the season
Stupid statement. How do you know he didn't like the offense? How do you know he tried to pull the plug on it?
LSU was averaging 10 penalties per game. Remember? You were probably one of the people bitching about it. To reduce penalties and help the young players he instructed Canada to cut back on all the motion. Any coach concerned about penalties would have done this. When the offense was not as effective in the first half he let Canada resume running motions. Nothing to see here.

now trying to run the guy out of town.
Another stupid statement. He was asked a question at a press conference and answered it. That's it.
If he wanted Canada gone, Canada would be gone. Your making shite up to support your rhetoric makes EVERYTHING you post more unbelievable by the post.

Why would you hire a guy who's offense so greatly differs from what you want to run?
Why would you say you were going to hire the best OC and not do it?

Well I'm talking about before the season began. It damn near looked like a certainty after Troy, but Orgeron was able to pull the team out of a nosedive. I give him credit for that.

I don’t know, did he? Do you have a quote?

Of course not. Eaux has a carefully crafted plan to make LSU great again...

Who cares what we thought about it. I care that Orgeron's installing an offense he believes in.
If I'd known he'd try to modify the guy's offense 4 games in I'd say why the hell are you hiring this guy. It would've been great if Orgeron loved this offense, but he clearly does not. It cost us in humiliating fashion.
It doesn't matter that we believe in it. It matters that Orgeron clearly has problems with Canada and his offense, which highlights the error in making a "splash" hire. Install an offensive philosophy with which you agree. Isn't that common sense?

Alleva vetted Canada just like he did Orgeron. Nada.
Canada had a career rating of D+. So of course if you use Alleva's logic of Tripling his Pay and paying 550K in buyout you are going to make him 3x as good...if Orgeron goes off and plays with himself.
LSU's 74th ranked Offense sank to new lows against a weak schedule but as we know managed a miraculous turnaround after losing 3 games, 2 historically, and then trouncing a bunch of floundering sub .500 teams. However, when they played 'only 3 ranked opponents' the Offense folded like a cheap suit scoring 14.7 PPG in 2017 and 13.2 PPG vs 5 ranked opponents in 2016 - Back-to-back worse than any of Miles' yrs. In 2015 Miles' 43rd ranked Offense was 4th in the SEC with 29 PPG vs 4 ranked opponents.
2017 LSU Overall Offense/Defense/Passing:

In its simplest form if Canada is out after this year, it will go down as a failed hire by Orgeron
Did everyone get hit with the "stupid" stick this morning?
If Canada is out it is most probably because he has a job offer as a head coach. How could hiring a guy who is coveted as a head coach be considered as a failed hire ????

There have been plenty of red flags with Orgeron this year
Want to list a few of the red flags?
Unbelievable amount of made up shite being posted on the board today.

You quoted something literally spelling out the issue for you ....and still managed to miss the boat
The issue is not with hiring Canada
The issue is not with hiring Canada

1. Did you miss the part where he said in the past he was too involved with the offense
1. and then he made Canada change his offense
So all of the "THEM" you bring up is ONE thing that happened for ONE HALF of ONE GAME. That was done to simplify things for they young players and reduce penalties. Then went back to the regular offense after one half because it wasn't as effective.
Really? One thing for one half is all of the THEM you are bitching about? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Wouldn't make shite up would you? Ha Ha ha HA

Then the AD had to have a private meeting with him and make him let his coaches coach?
You have no clue what happened in the meeting.
Want to make some more shite up? Go for it. I'm game.

Well they got a shot at finishing in the top 10 in his first year, a place Lsu hasn't finished in a while. So, maybe his plan is on the right track?

where exactly is he getting a HC gig? Canada is one of the highest paid OCs , and is paid more than half of all FBS head coaches.

Absolutely it makes sense...... if you’re an offensive minded coach..
Orgeron doesn’t have his own offense... he doesn’t have an elaborate playbook... he let Canada do his own thing, yet tried to tweak it a little in a game where he probably thought he’d have a little wiggle room... it backfired on him and he didn’t do it (noticeably) again.

I think the offense looked better last year with Ensminger...
Canada can leave anytime he wants... Just Hope Ensminger wants the job... This offense would kick arse next year if this was to happen........
