If I am a business owner/competitor of Harry T's, I am putting out a social media campaign promoting an LSU tailgate in the parking lot for the BAMA game and offering discounts on drinks for all patrons wearing collegiate gear for the remainder of the season.

That would be a very smart move.

I'm going to say that restaurants that are that fixated on college football fan bases are probably not that fixated on the actual food. Best to just move along if it's actual really food you're interested in.

Not quite done.

I have contacted AJ's and have encouraged them to post "LSU fans are always welcome at AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar".

Told them they would get a lot of free press, a lot of social media activity and would be a hero in the state of Louisiana.

Saw this posting from some of my LSU friends in Florida. I found it ignorant of Harry T's not to serve LSU fans due to Swamp Donkey Alum party. I for one being an FSU fan enjoy being around other team fans while watching us square off, drinking a cold one, and a little smack talk is what football season is about.

I shared this story with North West Florida Daily News, which is the main newspaper in the panhandle of Florida. They went ahead and wrote an article and shared it on social media. As someone who has been born and raised in the Destin area I thought my community should be aware of the ignorance that took place between a business/UF alum and an opposing team fan.

Here is the article they wrote up. SWAMP DONKEY

It has really taken off on social media since it has been posted for just over an hour.

tripadvisor.com has just deleted a bunch of LSU fan reviews of Harry T's except for 1 and is not allowing any more.

Step 1.) Mark electronic calendars to remind you to leave review after X period of time.
Step 2.) Leave review for Harry T's on multiple review sites.
Step 3.) Mark calendar to check if review is removed.
Step 4.) Repeat Step 1.

Like father like son..

He also said he’d turned away some Tennessee fans during the game, in order to save the seating for Gators fans.

“It was crazy,” Longo said of Saturday’s game, which ended in a 35-28 victory for LSU. “It was a great night.”

He added that they’ve had problems with fans representing LSU, as well as Florida and Alabama.

“There’s just some people who shouldn’t go out and watch college football in public,” he said. “They’re mean and nasty and make other people uncomfortable.”

So much for his apology... Sounds like the entire SEC needs to boycott.

It REALLY is a good experience for whites to feel a very, very, very small example what blacks (or mexicans, muslims etc) have to go through their entire lives. Yes, I know they're not denied entrance any longer to places of business, but they do have to put up with much worse discrimination than this. An important aspect though is that the solution to the problem was not a lawsuit or asking for laws to be passed. The solution was to go somewhere else and publicly shame the business. Minorities could also learn from this situation.

Ole War Skule... Please define a minority...???

their yelp board is in the process of being "cleaned up"

Active Cleanup Alert

This business recently made waves in the news, which often means that people come to this page to post their views on the news.
quote:

While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to these news events, we do work to remove both positive and negative posts that appear to be motivated more by the news coverage itself than the reviewer’s personal consumer experience with the business.
quote:

As a result, your posts to this page may be removed as part of our cleanup process beginning Thursday, October 22, 2015, but you should feel free to post your thoughts about the recent media coverage for this business on Yelp Talk at any time.
