He’s got a lot of experience. We better take notes on their run game because we will need one next year in the redzone.

I remember a time when tRant wasn’t exactly pleased with the Denbrock OC hire and wanted someone young and innovative. Kelly was starting his BBQ club.

Freeman is so pumped up. It’s like he’s in the game! What a great coach!

Also looks like the ND LoS came to play in the second half on both sides of the ball.

If you put aside your dislike of ND or the whole Kelly ND situation you have to admit Freeman is a very likeable guy. I know I really wanted him here when we were trying to hire him as D Coordinator. His players seem to play really hard for him.

Agreed. He appears to be a really good guy that kind of backed into a job and has made the most of it. From everything I’ve seen he’s pretty humble and just on fire about coaching ball.

Notre Dame can suck a fat one all throughout 2025. Wait….. they actually already do. It’s been a practice of theirs for many years. I’ll get back with you when I can think of something they really hate doing.

Most LSU fans need to let their nuts hang and be happy for other people’s success.

I feel like the further we got from Denbrock, the worse we played - in general.

He’s legit for sure. Hated losing him.

I appreciate what Denbrock did here, but it’s pretty clear he was not running his favored scheme at LSU. All you have to do is look at what he did in Cincy and what he’s doing now and you can see what he prefers. He adjusted to what we had very well in his two seasons, but the focus on WRs just isn’t his game.

If you look at Denbrock’s 19-21 Cincy teams and ND this year, you will see a ton of similarities across the board. While several formations and motions are similar to what he ran here, the personnel (lots of 11 and 12 and some 13 outside of short yardage) he’s using at ND and focus (RBs and TEs) are completely different. Again, this looks very much like what he ran at Cincinnati and much less like what he ran here.

Watching ND this season, I’m convinced that Denbrock left because he wanted to run his preferred offense again, and that was never happening here. There is just too much WR talent available in LA and this region to ever run an offense that only puts 2 of them on the field for half of the game.

Again, I appreciate Denbrock’s two seasons, but if he left to run this system, it’s good that he moved on. This scheme wouldn’t have ever been a good fit here and he wouldn’t have been happy staying much longer not running it.
