SIAP - Article dropped about an hour ago. I would like to be able to see all the e-mails. After reading this.. I don't think Wade coaches here again. Not sure how they can fix this relationship.

SI.com

quote:

While LSU and Wade remain in a stalemate, their attorneys are in communication, mostly by phone but sometimes through email. Michael McGovern, working at the New York-based firm Ropes & Gray, is representing Wade. Bob Barton, out of Baton Rouge’s Taylor Porter, is the university’s longtime legal counsel.

quote:

An email exchange between the two earlier this week speaks to the strained relationship between the two sides. McGovern sent a one-sentence email Tuesday to Alleva and Alexander informing them that Wade would meet with them only after the sweeping federal criminal investigation is complete. He carbon copied the LSU Board of Supervisors, LSU general counsel Tom Skinner and Barton. Barton responded with a multi-paragraph email detailing how McGovern broke the state’s attorney conduct rules by directly contacting Alleva and Alexander, condemning the action and writing that “such inappropriate communications will not be tolerated.”

quote:

Also in his response, Barton writes that McGovern’s email “misrepresents” the discussion the two men had Sunday, a day after the Tigers clinched the SEC championship and two days after LSU suspended Wade. The emails were obtained by Sports Illustrated through a public records request.

ETA: Link to Dellenger's Twitter. People are going in dry on him

So they got pissed off and decided to be petty about it by going to their SI mouthpiece.

Alleva won't be allowed to hire another Big 3 Coach. What I'm concerned with is allowing this BOS to involve itself since they have such a feckless, hapless boob like FKA heeling at their side.

Ridiculous but how is anyone surprised?

This is the same administration that toppled Les Miles with his defensive line coach.

They'll give Dellenger whatever information he wants because he'll say anything they want him to say.

Rudderless ship. This is depressing.

The players deserve better. The fans deserve better.

Embarrassed to be an alum right now.

Well if Alleva is making public statements on this issue and making contact directly to Wade and/or his representation, then LSU staff attorneys need not be petty about Wade’s NY attorneys not following LA rules of professional conduct by contacting Alleva directly. It’s silly anyways. Alleva has not personally retained attorneys to represent him. I think it’s likely a stretch that Wade’s attorneys violated any ethical rules even in LA. But attorneys on both sides need to stop posturing as it’s not helping th situation at all.

Why aren’t the emails themselves in the article?

An attorney cannot contact an employer on his clients behalf?
