I wouldn't have minded Whittingham. He's been solid at Utah.

He's never recruited at a high level.

Whittingham and Gundy have 24 total Power 5 coaching seasons between them in mediocre conferences and one single conference title.

And that’s one more than the guy we hired and all of the “serious” candidates mentioned in the article combined.

Again, your dismissal of their ability based on one resume box, while simultaneously ignoring the same box for your chosen candidate, is completely typical of this fan base and further explains why someone like Joe Alleva was entrusted to make such an important decision.

It's done, man. Long ago. You seem to be fixated on this.

Alleva is no longer here

This is an article on the search, in case you didn’t notice.

Sure, a P5 program.

There's nothing to show he can recruit. I would hope any coach considered when the job opens again would have a strong recruiting background.

I wish the article would have detailed why Orgeron's guaranteed money was so high when no programs were looking to hire him at the time...

Most fans would have been more okay with a status quo hire if the contract terms weren't so favorable to someone who so desperately wanted the job.

If this is another 10-2, 9-3 year with this much talent then we continue to be where we have been in recent years and nothing has really changed other than many will be happy because of WHO is doing it.

Truth. O has proven he can do anything yet

This stems from the WW situation and I’d like to revisit that.

Let’s say you are a sports writer and one side (WW) isn’t giving you any info but the other side (JA) is feeding you info. Would you not take the inside info your given and write a story about it?

I feel like the dude was doing his job and our fan base is shitting on him cuz it wasn’t the info we wanted to hear.

LSU is the last defender of all that is good and right in our wonderfully weird sport.
