Clark, Flott, Lewis, Brooks, Hampton were all impact players last night IIRC. I didn't see those names very much earlier in the year.

Was nice to see Delpit feeling a little better, too.

Smaller/Faster (Saban proved this concept in 2003)

In the past DA defenses have played really well against UGA type of offenses. I hope we stuff the run and force them to pass.

And it wasn't just at the start of the game when players tend to be revved up. They kept that up throughout the game. It was impressive how fired up they were.

NOBODY has said this.

Mr Rogers, SEC Network, made a statement preseason, that Mond was better than Burrow. If he is better than Burrow then he must be the best in the conference.

”The reason was the scheme. Aranda finally went to a blitz package, and got out of that rush 3 drop 8 bull shite. ”

I think you’re right. I wonder if Coach O had anything to do with this.

I posted this early in the game on the scoreboard thinking it was just me but they definitely put it in another gear last night. You could see it on the line pre snap, they were bouncing their legs ready to fire off the line. The extra get up and go was obvious and if they play like that from here on out we can’t be beat.

Based on what I've seen out of Aranda this year, we play a base scheme during the first half and-based on how the QB & OC react on the opposite sideline-Aranda rarely calls the dog until the 2nd half.

The last two games, we have blitzed early in the 1st half. Not only with extra men but with scheme, especially twists and stunts. Very atypical for Aranda this year.

Last night was more of the recent same. On each of the first three Aggie possessions, we sent fire on every third down. Somewhat of a surprise since Mond is a good improviser and I was worried he would escape the pocket and make plays.

Instead we got his clock completely off and he was really inaccurate all night. He's a real feast or famine type in that department anyway. Very streaky player.

But when we get pressure on the QB, our entire defense morphs. Our secondary plays much better because they get more 50/50 balls to make plays on and the QB is forcing more balls into the air based on guesses.

This defense's biggest problem all year was lack of pressure. We simply do not have anyone who can consistently collapse the pocket by winning 1-on-1's against their man on the OL.

Lawrence is capable but inconsistent. Shelvin can actually surprisingly do it but it's not his job in the scheme. Chaisson doesn't have a move other than using athleticism which has been a bit of a letdown. He's a freak but he's somewhat incomplete as a pass rusher. He's produced more but he really reminds me of Danielle Hunter. Raw athlete more than anything.

LSU needs to develop difference makers to create pressure from their base pass rush. If we do that, the D takes another step back to elite. Brooks is perhaps the man for that job. But outside of the speed rush from KC18, we don't have many guys that can get to the QB without a twist or stunt.

It's been the only weakness IMO.

Hampton is gonna be damn good.

YEP. Great to see him play vs Aggy. More experience to help in the SEC title game and playoffs.

Mond's qb rating last night - 8.5. Damn.

Burreaux's was 96.5.

CoachW needs to eat crow. GFY. You have been all hate towards Aranda for a long time now. Don’t come around here with your shite.

Outside of what’s been meantioned about the pressure from the front, I noticed Aranda moving Delpit up into the box a few times with Stevens and then moving Flott back to Safety with Hampton. And Those two Frosh are really looking more comfortable playing under the lights now. Letting those instincts come alive.
