but it would seem Pitt needs to win it all to make it. They won't be an at-large despite being in the semis
Yeah, that's the whole point. Pitt is 2-0 and 2 wins away from stealing a bid that they otherwise wouldn't have.
Miami was a weak bubble team before the tournament. If they beat Clemson and make the semi finals, it increases their bubble chances, as well as increases the chances Pitt or Miami win it... Which we do not want.

A loss puts us behind Missouri in RPI. That would really suck.

duke scores 0 to the bottom of the 10th

RPI is what it is at this point. We always knew that our RPI wouldn't be a thing that helps us. Using just RPI, a win today doesn't even put us in a safe place.

I hate the ACC format wish they would do the typical double elimination format maybe with a play in game.

With a fall in RPI and not having the opportunity to move it back up, Illinois, AZ, USA, WVU, and Houston could all keep playing and pass us.

I much prefer the ACC format to what the SEC has. This single elimination to double elimination back to single is stupid. Brutal on pitchers too.

Teams ahead of us could also lose and fall behind. Works both ways.

Running out of those opportunities. Missouri is done so no way we could pass them at that point...same for UCF. I don't know if we lose that there are bad enough losses to push OSU behind us. Maybe DBU and Illinois, but the way things are shaking out at the moment, we must win today.

I think the Ole Miss pitcher is the dumbest person ever

That was fricking awesome.

I mean not only does he make a dumb decision to throw how with no force play, but then he airmails it
Posted on 5/24/18 at 2:40 pm to TigerCub
As long as he makes the throw he gets at least one of the runners that were on second and third in a jam.

Good news and bad news as far as bid stealers.
Good news:
- Duke/Louisville will play tomorrow to make the semis. Either of them winning the ACC tournament is good for LSU. (Pitt is a potential bid stealer in the ACC, as well as Miami)
- Tennessee Tech wins their first game. We don't want a bid stolen from this conference.
Bad News:
- Northeastern loses its first game. They now have a long road to battle back and not allow a big to be stolen from their conference.

Seed prediction?
I think a 3 seed, being sent to a 9-16 regional would be a much better situation than a 2 seed in a national seed regional. Might be hard to send LSU to a 1-8 seeded region though, since most of them will be SEC schools.
USC and Miss St are considered 2 seeds, and LSU's RPI is now right there with USC. I don't think a 2 seed is totally out of the question, especially if they find a way to keep winning.

3 I think at this point
Regardless, the UConns and Minnesotas of the world will shite in their pants if LSU is in their region.
