Louisiana seemingly more than other states keeps some of their best skill position athletes on the defensive ball in HS. Look down the list Stingley, Greedy, Fulton, Tre White, Mo claibone, Tharold Simon, Eric Reid Tyrann Mathieu and it goes on

In fact the best collection of DBs in LSU history was 2011 which started the DBU moniker

Claiborne, Reid, Tharold Simon, Ron Brooks, Tyrann Mathieu, Brandon Taylor, none of which did Raymond have anything to do with and only one of which was from outside LA (brooks).

Do I want to lose Raymond HELL NO. Will we survive-as long as we continue to lock down LA and resist the temptation to put every athlete on the offensive side a la Texas yes.

We are acting like Raymond is gone, when in fact there’s probably a better chance he stays here than leaving us right now.

I just don’t want to recruit against him for these Louisiana prospects

Raymond recruited what is known as DBU

He is responsible for Derek Stingley, Greedy, jamal adams.. Should I go on?

You're just another Coach O blowtard

The amount of connections he has to 2020/2021 DB prospects is insane - not just in Louisiana, but throughout the country.

I'm not.

Don't panic. Orgeron is an elite recruiter.

I'd bet on O keeping Raymond or replacing him with someone who can recruit just as well.

Losing Raymond would be a problem. Acting like it wouldn't be is ignorant.

Candidates include Raymond, Floridas DB coach, and a few others who have some NFL experience according to Footballscoop.

The last coaching replacement was Ensminger. The process itself was a disaster.

You can't lose coaches if you want to make a run. Clemson has had 2 coaching changes in the last 8 years.

It's all about consistency. This would be a major major blow

Yeah, Raymond is 1 of 4 DB coaches they are looking at and the info was first leaked by Jimmy Smith who obviously covers LSU.

But he will leave eventually, so that's something LSU fans should keep in mind.

I’m as nega O as most nega goes, but assistants do move around. There are a lot of reasons why.

I want Raymond to stay, but it is highly likely that if he goes we will replace him with a guy that gets the job done

I think people vastly over estimate a coaches abilities when things go well and vastly underestimate them when things do not go right

The one reason I like Raymond is that his position group all seem to be grinders. Rarely see drama out of his group of young men

I don’t think Raymond leaves. He is a huge part of DBU. Silly to think otherwise.

I’m old enough to remember that the true creators of dbu were Ron cooper and John chavis who are both famously lazy recruiters. Raymond is a fantastic coach and recruiter but we were dbu before him and at some point when he leave (once again I do not hope that is soon) we will be dbu after him

Ron Cooper and Patrick Peterson, TYFYS

Without those two, there’s no DBU. Thanks to guys like Peterson, Matthieu, Adams, etc, DBU will continue to live on.

LSU has gotten elite db's for a long time. Whether it was Ron Cooper or Corey Raymond, they get elite db's to sign. The question to ask is, can Busch get them to sign also if CR leaves?

If I was a DB coach and I just signed Stingley and got Ricks to commit.....I would go no where!
