LSU defensive back Jordan Toles has entered the transfer portal, @on3sports has learned. Former four-star recruit who posted 12 tackles last season.

Don’t think this one is very surprising.

Welcome to the world of the new college football if you aren’t going to see the field then time to hit the portal.

I mean it's his third year on campus, he's barely played at all, and he clearly won't play this year.

This isn't new, and it's certainly not wrong in this case.

Really not that big of a loss. He probably wasn't going to play much other than ST. But I'm sure people will panic over this.

Didn’t they try to move him to CB in the spring? Sometimes guys just don’t pan out.

Transferring from a big school when you aren't getting much playing time isn't some new concept.

Reminds me of Ed Paris. He always looked a little too stiff at the hips to be a DB.

BK said today that he is becoming really comfortable with DB depth. Sounds like Burns and Ward are you starting safeties, so you have Foucha off the bench with Ryan/Davis also in that room as 5* safeties. Toles just couldn't crack the lineup, this makes sense.

He didn't just get here, he's a Jr and they were changing positions just trying to find a spot he could play at. There were 5 Srs and 3 Jrs in the unofficial 2 deep, now one of the Jrs is gone already. For anyone wondering why going for so many DBs. This is it, we need every DB we can get in this class

I didn't have high hopes. Very few skill position players from Northeast ever really pan out. Barrington Edwards and David Jones were the last players we got from that area. Both were rated as high as Toles and about the same production we here.

I just don't understand this line of thinking. More than likely Toles only has a few years left in his football career. I don't fault him or anyone like him for transferring and trying to make the best of it.

You think a player than can’t get on the field here is going to start at Bama?
