Yes this year. After the Big 10 announced. They wanted him bad.

Even if true, at the end of the day, he was a Heisman finalist last year and one of the best players in the country. Orgeron has to do what's best for the LSU program at the end of the day, and if a player like Fields is showing interest then it would be stupid not to entertain that idea. That doesn't mean Brennan isn't any good, but Fields is/was a pretty unique situation.

Another narrative being created. We Americans do this better than anyone, even when we know the truth.

Yep. The only thing the media likes more than building someone up is tearing them back down.

Am I the only one lacking confidence in the 2020 offense? Ensminger may have been calling the plays but Brady was the brain. I’ll be interested to see how much Ensminger learned and can re-implement for the new guys.

I mean, shite ... in 2018 we couldn’t even run a screen.

This is the 40th anniversary year of UGA's last national championship in 1980. ' '

I guess if you keep taking the same position over and over sooner or later you are going to be correct.

Pollack and Georgia suck but there's an awful lot of smoke around this theory. Why does a guy go all spring, all summer and this far into fall and say "covid". Nah. He didn't like what he saw.

I mean, it isn't unfathomable. I'd be willing to bet the farm that, without Joe Brady and Joe Burrow, LSU's offense won't be as good as last year's team.

He's already a top-10 pick. Why risk injury or a poor offensive showing for an asterisk season?

People attempting to drag LSU as much as they can in the offseason is nothing new, but after a championship season that just shows you it will always be like that

One of the college football podcasts made a good point about this whole situation. For guys like Chase, maybe all the precautions just aren’t worth it.

You go get your brain poked for testing 3 times a week, restrictions on everything you do, risk of having to quarantine for weeks, while you still aren’t certain whether the season will actually be played.

Or hire an agent, get money up front, go to one of these training programs, and prepare for the draft - while doing whatever the hell you want without having to walk on egg shells.

There could be another wrinkle thrown in there. What if Brennan’s go-to-guy is McMath from all the chemistry they’ve built. With Covid, maybe Chase felt like he wasn’t going to be completely featured and his stock would be hurt.

I remember Herbstreit saying it was 'the most improved offense from one year to the next he has ever witnessed/covered". Perhaps he also said what you claimed, but I don't remember hearing it.

He said it. It was after the game and on follow up with sport center

I mean does anyone really doubt this is true?

He went through practice and probably saw it wasn't going to be anywhere close to last year so he was like nah bruh I'm out

Really the only explanation I can see for quitting right before the season starts
