This is the most asinine thing that people get hung up on. When you are 2-3 deep at every position, the depth chart matters less than play time and impact.

Keys and West Weeks will both play (a lot) vs Clemson and throughout the season. If one shows that he's more impactful, he'll get more snaps. That's the way it works.

starters. BK likes experience, even at times over talent.

Yep. Like Will Campbell, Emory Jones, Mason Taylor, Maason Smith, Kaleb Kackson, Caden Durham etc

Yep. BK kept all those guys on the bench for more experienced, less talented players.

How many examples do you idiots need before you let this stupid myth die.

BK may have his issues, but putting young talented guys on the field isn’t one of them.

BK makes the final call on all starters

BB makes that call. I'm certain he has to defend that decision and I'm certain Kelly has input but Kelly doesnt spend that much time with the defense.

Doesnt really matter who "starts" Keys and Honk Badge will both play.

Whether he starts or not, Keys will see the field this year. Not sure if there is reason to be upset at this point.

I think Starter is going to be a loose term with this defense. Baker talked a lot about how deep this team is and I expect to see mass unit subs from time to time. Especially DL. But LB has a good 2 deep too.

Not an unreasonable take. I think Keys is ready for more pt.

Thanks coach KWL85 for clearing that up for us. Feel much better that you are on the case.

this would feel like another example of BK going with experience over talent

This is a great IQ test.

If you see somebody post this, you know you're dealing with a low IQ poster.

You have to right nothing but positive posts or you are a “nega - tiger.”

Are you okay? I mean like are you all there? You can look at a stat sheet but can only focus on limited stats or something? Junior West Weeks only had 16 total tackles all season. The freshman Keys had 31 total tackles along with the stats you mentioned. Why would they give him less of a chance as a Sophomore than they did as a Freshman? I’m sure we will see both but your narrative just isn’t true.

It’s great to have depth at LB

Keyes showed a lot of potential last year, but I’m still mad at him for dropping the pick that would almost certainly have won the Florida game.

I believe the front 7 is the strength of the D. I'm not saying the back end is bad. The rotation options are numerous.

The D is a month ahead, maybe more, of the O at this point.

Please list your professional experience in your coaching background.

I’ll expect it on my desk NLT COB today.

I’m sure the defensive coordinator that specializes in coaching the llinebacker position will have a grasp on who needs to be on the field

I like BK, obviously I want things to go well for us, but just some examples Josh Williams (who i loved) was the experienced player and many believed Caden Durham was the more talented. Josh Williams got more touches and could have been due to his pass protection and reliability, however this is just one example of what looks like a more talented player not seeing the field as often... I say that because im not sure that would have happened in the past under previous coaches at LSU.

Why are you just making stuff up? Durham had 140 carries and Williams had 117 carries. Even with Durham have a plate put in his foot midway through the season Durham still lead the team with carries over a damn Senior. Pretty much from the third game of his freshman season Caden was clearly the lead back.

frick off and take your downvotes like a man you little bitch.

Baker is an exceptional LB coach. He’s proven it many times. We saw what he did with a couple of guys here who everyone had given up on in 2021. He did great work with the LBs at Mizzou after he left here. Then look at the progression of Whit, who played like a chicken with his head cut off at times his freshman year. Hell, he had Keys ready to take on a role as a true freshmen when West and Whit both went down late in the season.

If Baker is starting West Weeks right now, there’s a fricking reason. I really like Keys too and I’m sure he’s going to play a role, but out of the position coaches on this staff, I trust Baker and Raymond more than anyone when it comes to putting the best guys they have out there. Do you really think Baker is intentionally tying a hand behind his back here?
