Probably has a $40M buyout

I saw where John Madden said teams should start hiring gamers for input. Maybe I can get a gig doing that

2 years important as the norm in P5 new coordinators is 3 years more often than not (see Pelini).
Woody protecting LSU if O flops again.

#LSU defensive coordinator Daronte Jones' new deal pays him $1.3 million per year, plus a one-time payment of $150,000, per his term sheet.
That’s not a bad contract. Hopefully he’s worth every penny and more.

So the guy that no one else wanted as a DC, who has not called plays in over a dozen years, never in a competition above D2 level is being paid $2.75 million. This is the absurdity of having a moron that can’t coach anything but DLine as your head coach. You have to pay everyone else triple their value and now they are settling for high risk hires with limited experience.
Sad times for LSU.
Guy may end up good, but no way does his resume deserve over a million a year. Should have been no more than $750k until he proves something at least.

Good deal for both sides. LSU isn’t on the hook for a 3rd year if things go south making the buyout essentially only $1 million dollars if he’s let go after year one compared to $4+ mil for Pelini. Meanwhile DJ gets life changing money for himself and his family with a great opportunity to earn even more if things go well. I don’t see how anyone could find a complaint with this contract. Yes maybe he could have been bad for $1 million even a year like Ensminger’s deal was but this is LSU and $300K is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Hopefully he’s worth every penny and more.
He and Orgeron got one season to flip it around on Defense or it's "Adios Muchachos" for them all.
No patience and no vacation period with a very very short rope.........
Get it done or GTFO..........

Do you wake up in the morning and go to bed at night thinking of ways to shite on Coach O on this message board?

Well, let's be honest shall we. You would say the same exact thing no matter who Ed O hired. The truth is you want Ed O fired no matter what and regardless of how many national championships he wins

It's a lot better than $2.3 million dollars.
