It doesn’t seem unreasonable to ask teammates to be mature and lay down the green like adults are required to do with real jobs?

Most real jobs don’t require drug tests. Mine does, but most don’t.

We need to decriminalize weed and all other drugs, and regulate them. Stop ruining young mens lives and wasting money keeping people locked up over nonviolent stuff like smoking weed

That compliance move may have cost us another ring too.

I agree that our compliance is more stringent and puts us at a disadvantage in that regard. The thing that is hard for me to get behind is the lack of self discipline these individuals display and that so many run to their defense and blame a rule they signed up to obey. Every single player that many of you defend had multiple opportunities and in this case and several other cases players were flagrantly violating the team policy that left the administration no choice. You can argue that our testing and rules need to be changed, but the problem is individuals with a lack of self control.

He didn’t follow the rules. He had to be disciplined. That’s all there is to it. You can’t ignore a rule because you don’t like it.

In light of how people view speed limit laws and mask mandates, how can people say this.

Smoking anything will have negative effects on your athletic performance much less something as damaging as weed. Educated people used to know this.

You don't even have to smoke weed.

But the point is also really dumb. Long distance runners smoke pot. Usain Bolt loves to smoke pot. Michael Phelps loves to smoke pot.

It isn't filled with tar like cigarettes. It isn't "good" for your lungs, but passing a joint around with friends on the weekend isn't going to hurt your athletic performance.

You don’t have a fricking clue. Educated people know this?? You just made that up. Your post is fictional comedy. I box, do crossfit, and jiu jitsu 6 days a week. I’m in fantastic shape. I smoke everytime before I work out. I lap people. All my friends my age are fat and bald. None of them smoke. Weed is not the devil. I’m 41 and I’m in better shape than when I was 25. LSU is shooting themselves in the foot over an archaic policy tgat needs to change.
