Per Coach O just now. Did I hear that correctly? It’s even more surprising that Brennan didn’t get any playing time.

I understand that we let Arkansas hang around too long, though.

Etling didn't look limited at all, at least not limited from an injury standpoint. If it was any significance of an injury why the hell would they draw up MULTIPLE plays for him to run the ball?

then we need to fire whoever is in charge of getting QBs ready. Why can other teams have freshman QBs ready, but we can't even have our senior perform above average?

Perhaps because the senior QB is limited on what he can do. But the coaching staff is coaching around those limitations, and feel he still gives us the best chance to win.

If you can't understand that by now, especially after seeing both QBs play, then there is no hope for you.

Apparently, O doesn't have as much confidence in Myles' ability as a lot of Myles' homers assumed. Personally, I'm glad they didn't play him because he probably would have hurt the team.

Etling was knicked. He wasnt injured. If he was injured I am sure we would have saw Myles play.

At this point in the season everyone is knicked up to some extent. No starter is completely healthy.

I don't think O would lie about injuries to make excuses for Etling. He hasn't made excuses for anyone else.

UGH!!!

I do not believe the "Brennan is not ready" screed. BUT, I certainly don't think he is better prepared than Etling.

Sports is the most direct meritocracy there is. A player EARNS his playing time. Playing in the GAME is the fun part. It is the "reward". Why in the frick would a coach take a guy who has studied, worked out, practiced in August heat, taken shots from 250 lb linebackers, etc and then said..."sorry. You don't get to take the snaps you EARNED. I need to let this young guy play"

How do you sell THAT to the next recruit "Yes...come play and learn and wait patiently. Then in your LAST season...as soon as we are out of the Playoff Race..I'm going to take your snaps away from you JUST BECAUSE the fanbase thinks development can only occur if I play the young pup"

frick that.

Etling has earned the snaps. He should take the snaps. Next season, Brennan can earn HIS snaps if he beats out Narcisse.

They litteraly just did this in the middle of last season. Give it time, man. Getting pissed off because of freakishly good QBs being ready when they are true freshman is just ignorant. There are literally less than 1% of freshman QBs in the country ready to play now. Calm down.

Im tired of hearing this. If a Qb's psyche is this fragile then he didn't have the chest for the position to begin with.

Everyone wants Brennan in but the few times we put him in, he was a deer in headlights. He needs an off-season to bulk up and learn the offense inside and out. We shouldn't risk putting him, at his weight, in against SEC play.

We saw what Brennan can do right now, he threw two interceptions and looked lost. We keep Danny in, we barely turn the ball over. People just don't get that Brennan isn't ready and that Etling is our best shot right now.

I don't believe he was badly hurt. I think they're just trying to shield him from criticism, because they don't want to throw Brennan to the wolves and create a sticky situation that could affect the team negatively going into the off-season.

BHP ... you are wasting your time.

These O-ball-lickers will give O all the credit for 9 wins ... if LSU has 9 wins ... and give all the blame for the 3+ losses to Etling.

Excuse? Orgeron said it in the context of Etling playing one of his best games.

Excuse for what?

Fail. Etling had a good game. He missed Moreau to stall a drive, and another out pattern miss. Other than that, he was spot on, and would have ha another TD if not for Dillon dropping a perfect pass in the SW endzone. Danny was ready to play, and played very well. We drubbed the Pigs. WTF is wrong with you?
