f you would have given Danny Football Odell and Jarvis to work with, Etling would have won the Heisman.

Nope, Etling was simply not elite. He could not under any circumstances have won the Heisman.

Danny is pretty far down the list of elite QBs at LSU, so did you start following Tiger Football in 2016?
OP is prolly 15 years old. chicken lets kids start accounts here than drives down quality of board. we need a poster litmus test badly

Etling is #10 in all time passing yards at LSU. I guess 10 is far down the list.

Probably so. But he was a better athlete than Mett. And I thoroughly enjoyed watching his effort and hustle.

does not mean he was great at reading a D. he also held ball too long and did not have really good pocket presence. the stats on that were laid out those years. canada gave him lots of easy passes to beef up his accuracy etc. similar to what JD had last year.

Etling was the man. Will never forget the week after Les was fired Ed O took the leash off the offense and Etling and co. set school records immediately against Missouri

Danny Etling started our run of elite QB play

Etling had limitations as a QB, and although he played with lots of heart and gave it his all, he was far from elite. He only seemed elite alongside his two predecessors, Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris.

Danny Etling will go down as one of our more underrated players ever and was the first to bring us decent QB play in a decade

Zach Mettenberger was pretty good even though he is an analyst at Alabama right now.

Danny was better than Met in my opinion

Correct, and downvoted to smithereens. Etling was far better even though Mett had the better arm.

Mett gave away the Ole Miss game. I want to remind you Mett enthusiasts. Ole Miss was a below average team AND they were missing about 7 starters on defense. They crowded the line to stop our run game, so Miles put the game in Mett’s hands. He was horrible and Ole Miss won.

Against Georgia, in a game in which defenses could not get stops, Mett got the ball back with time for the game winning drive. He went four and out as I recall.

I would take 20 LSU QBs before Mett.
