He said JD last year had a better passer rating than Rohan in 01 when the truth is.. Rohan 146.5, JD, 144.5.

After looking, I made a mistake looking at JD's 2023.

So basically equal passing and one had incredibly superior running. Who was the better QB?

*ETA: I fully expect JD to have a better 2023 than 2022

Dont mention daniels in the same sentence as JoeyB. Plus the bama team the Burrow beat in Bama was stocked and superior to the team daniels got lucky with in Tiger stadium

COLLEGE: Jones was a consensus All American (the first LSU QB to earn such honors). College Football HOF 2016.

NFL threw for over 18k yards and 124 TDs - in the 70s/early 80s. Led the NFL in passing 1976.

If these young fans only knew how much HC Charlie McCkendon hated a forward pass.
Jones was a Heisman candidate. Sports Illustrated (The only sports magazine in those days) sent a reporter down to do a story on Jones.
McClendon told him, he didn't know if Jones would be his starter.
I think Jones carried a grudge for several years because of McClendon.

-Yards per game (rushing included)
Rohan - 291.9ypg,
JD- 271.3 ypg

Passer rating
Rohan- 147.6
JD- 144.5

-Yards per play (includes rushing)
Rohan- 8.1
JD- 6.6

- TDs per game
Rohan- 1.62
JD- 1.93

Considering the era, rules and % of touches, (JD 574), (Rohan 458) it’s Rohan no doubt.

One thing you have to remember when dealing with the Daniels haters is they’re not actually defending him, they’re defending their own predictions and opinions.

They really have no clue about the evolution of the game or why the passing game was so different back then. They believe spread offenses were invented by Chip Kelly in 2010.

Nobody hates on Bert Jones. But it’s impossible to put him in the context of modern QBs.

frick Miles for screwing up the 2nd best LSU team of all time

I don't know about all that, but that defense was beastly. Just a couple of bounces here and there, and that team (2006) could have been 1958/2019 special. Football is a game of inches. Frankly, Miles is a double-edged sword in many regards.

It is what it is.

Wait Rohan totaled 4,492 yards in 25 games at LSU

JD just at LSU through 16 games has 4,501 in 16 games not counting today

“Team has to step up in all phases”

Of course you left that part out to twist the statement which is what you always do because you’re lying pond scum. Guess what, the team did exactly what I suggested they needed to and you saw the result.
