It’s really not that bad of a drive. My frat bros and I were taking turns driving and drinking the entire 25 hour trip up there. This was in 2017. Only stopped to eat or use the restroom.

Made the trip a few years ago and took this approach so to speak: Flew into Kansas City and the drive is right at 3 hours to Omaha. Flight was half the price. Stayed in Lincoln - 45mins to an hour away from Omaha. Rooms were way less than in Omaha. Flew out of Lincoln.

Book a southwest flight in advance. If they don’t make it, you cancel and use the dollars for something else.

Last minute plane tics bro!
You can fly cheaper to Italia if you book months ahead vs last minute even to the next state

having second thoughts after looking at flights

Not sure if it still holds true but pro tip that I was told of and utilized in 2009 was to fly into KC and rent a car to drive the 2-1/2 hours to Omaha...Flights were like 1/2 the price and you'll likely want a car for the week anyway. Good luck!

The good omen was that my rental car options when I got to the airport were either a burnt orange or bright yellow (gold) Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible...I chose the gold and we beat Texas (burnt orange) in the finals!

Drove it once when A. Nola was going to win the whole thing for us. Was 2 & Q.

Drove non-stop (eat and restroom breaks only) without my girlfriend (no pictures) taking a drive. I was absolutley exhausted when we arrived. The part through Missouri felt longer than the entire trip.

At least we used our vacation wisely and went to the big Iowa waterpark and white water rafting in Tennessee after the early exit.

You’ve got to book way in advance for at least a hotel

Made the drive 3 times.

They are all worth the trip there. It’s that ride home that’s brutal, especially without the ship.

In all seriousness to the OP, if you’ve never been, by any means necessary is worth it. It’s heaven on earth for college baseball.

I could find flights from DFW for $450.

Hotels around the stadium were $500.

Car rental was like $200 a day.

Where are you flying from? Looks like tickets are less than $700 from NOLA. $900 from Lafayette.

I would look into this, especially if you will be renting a car anyway.

19 hours ain’t shite. I’d rather drive than fly. The only part that sucks for me is going through Mississippi and/or Arkansas.
