Those stories sure make me realize just how thankful I am for all that I have. Things are so much easier now than they were 50 or 60 years ago. Most of the 'poor' today are 'rich' in comparison with most people who lived back then.

Does anyone know how Don became an LSU fan? He probably didn't even know what football was as a child.
Don't know how he knows about LSU football, but a ton of the Longs played football at Winnfield back in the day. Being from Winnfield I do enjoy his Thanksgiving message every year.

God bless Dandy Don and comfort him in his loss. He has been my source about my Tigers for a long time, and I appreciate his love for LSU and Tiger Nation. I'm a daily reader and a grateful contributor. Here's to many more years of talkin' bout our Tigers.

i love dandy don. i remember in 1998 in my computer lit class in high school someone told me about dandydon.com and i have read his page since then. i HATE it when people on THIS site bash him. i just went through all 3 pages on this topic to see if anyone had bashed him, thankfully they had not. dandy is not perfect and sometimes messes up, but he has the heart of a tiger. God Bless You Dandy One

Dandy Don is a godsend to all of us LSU. Like many of you all, I also read Don's reports every morning, and look forward to doing so. As much as it pains us to know that such a tragedy existed in such a good person's life, we can obviously teke comfort and be reminded that there is something, no matter how small, that we shall be thankful for. Tomorrow is the day of thanks, tahnks for our health, family, and well being. But let us not feorget exactly the very things we take for granted! I too am not easily moved to tears, but this message first, reminds me that all that we love will not bearound forever. And second, it reminds me of the hapiness I have and have had listening to ole folks telling us pups about the old days, the days so simple we couldn't even imagine going through them (I'm pnly 36). I absolutely look mforward to reading Don's recollections and thanksgivinigs every year, and GOD willing, to shedding a few next year as well. I would request that admins sticky some sort of post for the old timers to post their memories so that we youngsters can read and truly appreciate what it is we should be thanful for!. I know I've rambled on, but I enjoy listening to stories from our elders, it's a dying art! Thanks!
