What exactly are you referring to? Did he start it more than the 16 years ago that Scott refers to in the OP?

I haven't read DD in years, as I just don't see what the value add is when places like TD exist. But my favorite things are:

--his high school game picks - including specific score predictions of the most obscure HS's in the state

--the ultra-fiery email exchange he engaged me in back in 2003 when he was looking for National Championship game tickets at face value. I can't remember how it got to the point it did, but it somehow culminated in him saying something like "if you don't like Huey Long, then you shouldn't read my blog". To which I responded "well then how the hell am I going to be able to scale my expectations for the upcoming Rosepine/Vinton game??!?"

DD...

I was actually directed to the site in 1999 by some Indian dudes in a bar in NYC! That truly was before the Twitter age.

I stumbled on it in college, I think. Was looking for recruiting info.

~94 or 95, I think?

DD was the first LSU site I started reading, and I still read it every morning. Hope the best for him.

Met him at the Past Time before the 2005 LSU-Tennessee 3OT game on Monday night. First LSU recruiting information I ever really caught onto.

Thanks, Dandydon!

Can someone give me some biographical info on Dandy Don? i.e.- where does he live? How old? What occupation? Etc.

All the best to you, Dandy Don. Prayers sent.

Not sure of Dandy's age, but it has to be upper 60's. Fandom? How dare you ask? Do some research clyde! I have and always will. have the UPMOST RESPECT for this MAN and his contributions through the years.
I get really pissed, reading the negative comments, about him and his blog. The Dude is a hard- core, LSU fan, like me and whomever ridicules him can kiss my arse! I love the guy. GEAUX TIGERS!! Through Thick and Thin

It looks like it is getting close to the last sunrise for Dandy Don. That make me feel very sad. Like we are losing a friend. Maybe if the LSU football team & coaching staff could somehow cheer him up....
God bless Dandy Don

Wrote to Scott as well this morning. Reading his post really caught me off guard, even though I was aware of Don's battles. Like most others on here, I have the highest respect and admiration for Don and what he has done for the Tiger Nation.

God Bless Dandy Don and his family. You will be in our prayers.

I'm really liking the midfield recognition thing for Don. TD Nation needs to make some calls and get this going. I'm sending an email tonight...
