Dan Patrick just said per his "source":

“Big 10 is over. It was decided 12-2 presidential vote over the weekend.

Pac 12 is done as well.

Neither want to be the first to say it, though. No announcement today likely tomorrow

ACC and Big 12 on the fence.

SEC is still going ahead and may want to pick off schools from ACC and Big 12 that want to play.

Texas and OU want to play.”

Would the SEC ACC Big 12 really play if no big 10 and pac 12?

It's hard for me to see that

Finebaum is claiming the SEC would still push ahead and try to encourage the ACC to follow suit.

If they are playing conference only, the SEC can pull this off.

He also mentioned that Nebraska and Iowa were the only Big10 schools who voted to play.

Why? The PAC 12 and Big 10 are irrelevant conferences anyway. The Natty goes through the SEC and Clemson anyway.

Champions League - If you have a conference championship in your current league from the last 15-20 years you're invited to join. Then sort them into divisions by strength and figure out cross division schedule weighted based on historical rivals (UT and OU would play each other in cross division).

After the corona virus. I really would like to see the playoff committee investigated for their big 10 bias. It was the most absurd ranking I have ever seen when making Ohio State #1 and then to justify it had to bump up many weak Big 10 schools. That was a travesty. Lucky a few of the Big 10 voters had to leave and allowed a more realistic vote and allowed LSU to be #1 after beating GA.

There's a huge potential benefit for both the SEC and ACC to push ahead while others cancel/postpone. Even more so together.

I know, very cynical (in some's view). But that benefit is indeed real, and tangible.

It's not like both conferences haven't expressed interest in 'brand' and 'footprint', repeatedly. There's no better way to do that than being the only game, literally, in town.

It's been this way more years than not recently anyway.

There are no OOC games anyway, so let the SEC play. If no one else does then the SECCG is the Natty.

It won’t be a true national championship so it’s kind of pointless.
