Dude is constantly jogging sideways, never attacks. Doesn’t get off blocks. Quite unbelievable that there was zero improvement from last year.

Even worse, why is he not getting benched? At this point it doesn't even matter if his backup is worse, give the guy a shot. There is 0 faith that Clark will do anything remotely positive... It's insane.

cause they ran the ball at him every play. Wake up man.

Half of those were Clark tackling him in the secondary cause he didnt shoot the gap and tackle him at the line of scrimmage like he’s supposed to.

Easy on the LBs. I think the adjustments confused them. Thats on the coach.

Doesn’t have all the skills physical and mental to play at sec level. Time to bench him.

He’s one of the worst starting linebackers I’ve ever seen in the SEC… 2 years in a row. He’s the same exact player as last year. It’s embarrassing

He also ran down Charbonnet a few times.
Clark played well. Hating on him is misplaced.
There are issues with the Run D. But that's a Team thing.

He is quite literally the opposite of Welter, although the results are the same. DJ knew what he was supposed to do, but did not have the physical talent to actually do it, Damone has no clue what to do, but is a physical specimen.

Both are super frustrating to watch and at least Damone could possibly be coached up to get better. I fear that this "braintrust" cannot do that.

.. he picked the wrong sport then.. he should have ran track instead..Charbonnet was his man, he ran him down becuz he ran right by him and never got a hand on him till he was 20 yards downfield..

Welter used to get a ton of tackles as well, bout 15 yards down field or more.

When you see a guys make the same exact mistakes under two different DC’s? Hell, Harris wasn’t even very good under Aranda. On two of UCLA’s big play busts, we were in the right alignment and either Baskerville, Clark, Harris or Toles has no clue what to do on the most basic of high school level assignments. What coach is going to fix that beyond replacing them with players with more potential to grow into the position and execute the calls?

The bigger coaching issue today is putting talent on the field, even if that comes with a learning curve, because we KNOW some of these vets just aren’t capable. And I say this as someone who really wanted to believe that Clark was going to turn it around this year. I really thought he would, but he just can’t play as a 4-3 MLB.

All true except for the last bit. Blake Baker is a legit LB coach and we’ve seen no improvement at all. Clark just doesn’t have the instincts to play LB in a 4-3. He was playing a completely different 3-4 OLB role when he looked competent under Aranda. He doesn’t fit anywhere in this defense and it’s clear that he can’t adjust to this scheme like some other guys have.

Coaching may still be a huge issue, but it’s not the problem with Clark. He just needs to be benched in favor of guys who can at least execute the basics and have some instincts for the role of a 4-3 MLB.

Wrong, he is very fast, but since he has no clue where to be, he looks slow on the field.

Once he makes a decision to get somewhere, he gets there in a hurry. Unfortunately, he is usually chasing someone after he blows a lane assignment.

I believe you have identified the problem.
Why let facts get in the way of rumors.
I watched as Clark twice ran down running backs that would have scored TDs, and almost stopped the TE from scoring.
