Give our girls credit, they have guts and didn't give up. Even though they had bad day shooting, they dug down deep and pecked away Wash 15-point lead slowly but surely. Hate that our ladies had to play in small, rundown HS gym with only 2 people wiping the floor with small towels. Give Kim credit, she got them in position in 2nd half to have a chance to win it in the 4th. She made adjustments with Wash defense and didn't give up on them. Great to see Samiyah back and play well.

32% fg is not going to get it done. Great win but they have to shoot much better.

We struggled with their zone….sure we will see zones for the next few games until we exploit it

She doesn’t have to be the star! Look at the kid from SC east she is going through the same thing! Where as JuJu has to be the star and is expected to be! Johnson is the star Followed by Marrow

Don't sweat it.....Washington was an elite 8 in the tournament last year and this game was played on a small venue court but the Tigers won.....I say awesome win.

True

Last time they went to final 8 and Final 4, was in 2016, under a previous HC

Look at FJ in year three compared to year one.

Her improvement has been insane. She was hyped up a lot her freshman year and I just didn't see it. She hustled and played defense but that was about it.

She improved a ton last year and now she's probably an All-American. Just an awesome story.

This was so great to see. You could tell she has been a little tentative at times this season (which is perfectly understandable).

She scored 40 in a college game at the D1 level for the defending champs as a fricking first year freshman.

This sort of plays into my theory that she is great when playing against lesser competition but can't create the same when playing against the better teams. Also supports that she is a streaky shooter. When she is hot she can drop 40 but she most certainly doesn't look like THAT player game in and game out.

She’s just hasn’t gotten in college ball shape yet.

Its year 2 for her. She should be in shape.

This is a good point. I hope MW takes the same path but FJ steadily improved over 3 years and if anything MK has regressed from last year thus far. Hopefully she can grow into more than a streaky shooter.

She’ll be fine. But it’s been said and it’s the biggest issue. She needs to get in shape.

I haven't lost all faith in MK but what will it take for her to get in shape? Maybe this is the best shape she can get herself into. And if that's the case, I am not sure she can make the leap that FJ has made during her career.

I hypothesize that it is difficult for Williams' game to take center stage playing with Flauj. Flauj, rightly, dominates the ball and the floor with her explosiveness, energy, and playmaking.

Williams will have to continue to develop a complementary game. Her time will come both in certain situations this season and her career. As of now, when Flauj brings the kind of juice she's bringing, the other players have to provide support around her. For LSU to win a game where Williams shot so poorly is a credit to the team.

This is a good theory and I hope you are correct. Look I have been critical of MW in this thread but I want nothing but the best for her. I hope she turns into the dominant player we all thought/think she is.

Washington has not been in NCAA Tournament in years. They were in women's NIT couple times. They're off to good start this year, but like in previous years, they lose when play a good team or ranked team.
