7 sports writers gave their picks for this weekend

All 7 picked LSU to win AND cover 6.5.

Even the media in TX expects it to be a bloodbath. This game will be over by half.

45-14 LSU

Gonna be 2011 LSU over Oregon and a similar season with hopefully a better ending. LSU gonna probably roll everyone but Bama, just like 2011. Now it's a playoff setup, though.

Oregon, WV, and even Miami last year have been coming to mind all week. All three were supposed to win because they had great quarterbacks.

Trying not to think about Wisconsin week 1 2016. Most thought we would win that comfortably.

UT’s confidence just seems to me exactly like LSU the past few years. They have recruited well and know they are talented, but they have a team filled with young guys at key positions. They are severely downplaying the value of an experienced, veteran team. LSU finally has that for the first time in a while, and it will show.

Most people weren't aware of how good Wisconsin was that year. I don't think anyone is making that mistake with Texas.

Because we were told all offseason that the offense was different and Harris was throwing the balls lights out.

Then the game starts and it’s the same shitty offense from the same shitty offensive coordinator with the same shitty QB. Three weeks later everyone was out of a job.

We’ve already seen LSU once this year. It is very much a new offense.

Edited: Was thinking Harris, typed Jefferson.

This is exactly why Orgeron should squelch the noise and tune all pundits out until the game is over.

Wasn’t it Harris that found the Wisconsin cornerback wide open?
That was a great trip with an awful ending. Beginning of the end for Les. Witnessed the end at Auburn.
Wisconsin had also lost a lot of starters from the previous year.

Man I agree with you, the hype on this board about how we are going to destroy Texas with no regard for whether Texas is good or not, reminds me a lot of Wisconsin also!

The big difference though is this time we “flipped” the experience of the teams which should also flip the results from the Wisconsin game! When we played Wisconsin we had 9 returning starters and they had 16 returners! This time it is us that has all the experience starting which is why we win this game!

Pretty sure LSU was favored in all 3 but especially WVU

Most people forget how close to LSU was to losing to Wisconsin in 2014. LSU had to score 15 points and get an INT in the 4th quarter to win by 4. As it was, LSU was out-rushed by the Badgers 268 to 126.

I was aware of how good Wisconsin was, as the game basically came down to the 4th quarter again, but Harris threw an INT when LSU was already in FG range for a game winning kick.

Both games were close and could've gone either way.

Edited for BigBrod.
