That is true. The fact that Bobby Knight did NOT get a technical for slamming down a phone and going on a tirade at the scorer's table late in the game was a travesty.

I remember it being the first half but yes he should have gotten a second technical and been tossed from the game.

But truth be told we were up 9 fairly late in the second half long after that, and they could not stop Nikita Wilson, but Dale decided to go 4 corners anyway and essentially go away from his strongest hand down the stretch.

There were a couple of non-call I can remember where I thought they hacked us to get a steal but we were in that position because we were stalling and not feeding Nikita. And Fess did miss two big free throws.

One last thing - Our defense was so good on their go ahead score, we forced an airball, had the ball hit the rim we most likely get the rebound, game over, but airball right to their guy who puts the ball up and in.

As you can tell this game pains me to this day, I remember it like it was last week.

I think some are missing the mark on this and comparing coaching resume's - I don't think the initial question was about that - the question is would Dale get as much praise upon his death. I have never been a Dale fan boy, but He'll get plenty and honestly because basketball is significantly more popular nationally - that's just a fact - Dale would get maybe more nationwide, Skip more locally.

That's not nothing to do with whose resume is better.

Not sure what you are disagreeing with, but I suspect it's that Dale would not get more nationally? I think he would and would be glad to explain why I believe that if that is indeed what you are saying.

Dale Brown is 1000 x more divisive than Skip.

Dale was actually known for visiting children's cancer wards, bringing his players to tiny rural rickety wooden churches to meet blind people, etc. Not saying that Skip didn't do charitable "humanitarian" things, but it was more in a general sense like speaking at a fundraising dinner. When Dale dies there are going to be actual individuals who show up at his funeral who had special needs, etc. and will say that they greatly appreciated him treating them like a king for one afternoon with the entire team including its future NBA players tagging along for the visit.

It's hard to find a single person with anything bad to say about Skip

As A.D., he started the Tradition Fund, which de facto hiked ticket prices by thousands of dollars overnight. He also did not try to stop Nick Saban or Pat Henry from leaving LSU. Saban would have been expensive to try to bribe into staying, but Henry could have easily been convinced that A&M supporters were lying to him when they tried to make it sound like their track program had a sold-out football stadium gameday atmosphere. While LSU's Bernie Moore Track Stadium and Carl Maddox Field House are not exactly "Death Valley," those were larger facilities than A&M had and came with a core of loyal supporters.

that sorry mf....how dare him do any of that in college basketball. That's not fair.

I have no problem except the way he pretended like he wasn’t. If he kept his mouth shut, it would have been fine by me.
