It’s just hard to believe a team like A&M can get their arse handed to them at home by an 0-24 conference team and still getting in the tournament

I dont see how that’d happen unless Kentucky gets in as well and the SEC has 14 teams in. Would be pretty wild.

In the end, I don’t expect it to be an issue. I think the road to Omaha goes through The Box.

Anyone who cared enough to actually look into what you said knew this. Unfortunately this thread if full of posters who are looking to be pissed and taking it out on you. I guess that’s what Tigerdroppings is for though

They are 11-19, correct me if I'm wrong? Unless they win the SEC Trny, I can't see them getting in.

LSU’s floor is 7. And that is where D1 put them.

Beat Auburn on Friday and move up a spot.
Beat Arkansas on Saturday and probably move up a few more.

That said, give me 7 and Coastal, then Auburn, Vandy and UNC in a CWS bracket right now.

It’s pretty simple. I’m leaving the door open. Which is apparently a hotter take than slamming it shut and saying LSU is a top 8.

I think they are. “Lock” insinuates that nothing else that happens matters. I’m not willing to go there while still maintaining that I believe LSU is going to be a top 8.

Yes, saying the number 1 team in the polls might be left out by the committee is a hot take. Especially when everyone before the weekend said winning 2/3 would do it.

My only problem with what you're saying is I don't see how Oregon State can jump LSU. They don't play another game until their first game in the regional.

I (hope) don't think the committee would penalize a top team for their play in the conference tournament, while another team sits at home.

Look, I think LSU is locked in as a top 8, no matter what we do Friday, but the rankings have little to no bearing on how the committee seeds teams. We've gotta stop using the polls as a reference point. RPI and ELO carry far more weight for post season discussions.

I’m aware. The only stats that matter are whatever the committee values at that time. It varies year to year. But insinuating that LSU was falling from the previous poll 2 to 9 or lower after a conference road win is silly.

I think Oregon State’s resume sucks. I would never put them ahead of LSU. But a No. 6 RPI is not something I’m going to completely dismiss. The committee *could* use that. I just wouldn’t.
