I think it's pretty close.

In all seriousness, I'd imagine the initial low ranking has to do with our unproven freshman pitching.

1 solid weekend against a northern team who's been hitting indoors for 6 weeks wasn't enough to sway them, and as mentioned the teams in front of us took care of business.

Polls don't really mean much in college baseball til the the TD one drops anyway

I honestly think right now we are closer to the #9 team than #2 but the season is only one weekend old.

It was 1 series man... And out of all the teams ahead of us, only 2 teams lost a game. But still won the series.

Relax.

It's baseball you won't see any significant movement for another couple weekends. Unless a top ranked team lays an egg and loses a series to a team they shouldn't no ranking will change this early.

Rankings are overrated anyway, they don't use them to pick top 8 seeds and regional hosts.

Rankings are overvalued because of football. In that sport rankings actually determine who can play for the championship. In basketball and baseball you can be UR and still have a shot to win it all.

The fact that BA has us #2 and two SEC teams in the top 2 is impressive enough.

Basically, these rankings mean about as much as the poop I took this morning.

Morning poops are very important to me.

why does anyone care about rankings (whether it's for football, basketball, or baseball)? It's just some guys voting on who's better, even though many of the teams never play each other. It's just silly.

Especially for basketball and baseball (and now even for football, to a much lesser extent), there's a year-end tournament to determine the champion. Get in, and then do your thing.

Personally, I couldn't care less where my team is in some poll, and even if I did, I wouldn't give one shite this early in the season. It's just irrelevant.

Who cares?

Baseball polls are not accurate. To expect them to be uniform shows a major misunderstanding. One week in, it's pretty impossible to have a good gauge of who is better than who.

I was happy to see what LSU did last weekend...but even after watching them, I understand that I have no idea exactly how good they are. They may deserve being a top 5 team...or they may be currently overrated at 9. There are a lot of questions left to be answered.

LSU is about where they should be. I just know that if these young guys develop on the mound and handle the pressure, sky is the limit.

3 out of 56 games . Too early. Win your home OOC games. Go 20-10 or better in SEC games. Make a deep run in the SEC Tourney and presto...

Get a regional at the box and move forward from there. No need to overthink this.

Same formula every year. Polls don't mean anything until after the last pitch is thrown at Ameritrade park.

Baseball rankings at this time don't make sense or matter.
