D1 Baseball still projecting LSU as a regional host

D1 Baseball Postseason Projections - May 8th
Shocking to me, honestly, with an RPI of 23, sitting in 6th place in the conference, with an overall record of 30-19.
I find it hard to believe that LSU would get a host site if the field was announced today.
Although, the 2 seed with the strongest case is probably Baylor and they have an even lower RPI at 27 (although they are 14-6 in the Big 12 which is 0.5 game ahead of Texas Tech for 1st place). Either way, there's a very good chance that either Baylor's coming here or we're going to Waco.

Man, it's like we've played well in a lot of spots this year and folks on here are prisoner of the moment types.

why shocking? This place runs on pure emotion. If you step back and look at the entire body of work its not that bad. Pretty good considering the injuries LSU has gone through. By the end of the year this board will have egg on its face in regarding to baseball as usual

Yeah well we will see about those projections after this weekend. How in the Frick are we going to even salvage 1 game up there? The way we are playing we will get humiliated in all 3 games. Then uno next week who knows and auburn who we may be able to win the series hopefully. I don't see us being a host honestly ubless a miracle happens or we make an unlikely run in the sec tournament.

You can feel the difference this year. Lethargic, lack of motivation and focus. I don't think Maineiri has the drive for success that you need to maintain a championship program. We have a talented young basketball coach. Now it is time to find a talented young baseball coach to take the reins.

It doesn’t matter, I would rather not even make the tourney. No need to prolong a season of underachievement. Let’s just get this year over with and focus on football!

All the NC$$ cares about is the gate and the TV ratings. People will tune in just because it's LSU. This team has done nothing to deserve a regional.

I just explained that, try to keep up. Name recognition and 10,000 fans for a money-grubbing NC$$. The projection is completely divorced from the product on the field. At best they are a 2 seed in some Big-12 (Texas Tech) or ACC (Miami) Regional. #23 RPI, #6 in the SEC, #7 in the state, banged up. Just not a good team right now.

If LSU backs into a regional host spot it won't be any different than Alabama getting into the playoffs when they don't even win their conference.

You can just turn off your TV and not watch. What kind of "fan" hopes their team tanks and misses the post season? It's not going to make football season come any faster.
