I’d take that. Go look at the schedule USM played.

LSU will never get sent to a regional close to home because the committee doesn’t want LSU fans to take over another team’s regional.

Why do you think the last three times LSU didn’t host they were shipped to UCLA, Oregon State, and Oregon?

Excerpt at your link...
"Oregon and Oklahoma State are certainly not out of the regional hosting mix just yet. Other teams to keep an eye on Thursday include LSU, North Carolina, Florida, Texas State and Dallas Baptist."

I don’t want to face NC State in a regional. They are getting hot again. The fact that they have Auburn hosting is crap.

Still right on the edge of hosting but we have a better shot of jumping Auburn now. Hosting and getting paired with Maryland or 8&4 sounds good.

Can't wait to troll Moscona... He swears LSU will host- He says he never speaks in absolutes until Riley to LSU and LSU to host regional. Guy is a clown

I would agree with this if John Cohen wasn’t on the committee.

Concur about moscona but hunt is just as adamant saying it’s not likely. Funny thing about “sources “ is they don’t know as much as they would have you believe

Cohen can’t be in the room when any SEC teams are being discussed

Sun Belt (playing in Montgomery) switched to single-elimination last night. Will be interesting to see how that plays into their chances of hosting or not (same for GA So.)

The committee can take their opinion on RPI this year, shine it up real nice, turn that sum-bitch sideways, and stick it straight up their candy arse!

So it's just a coincidence that the ONLY three times LSU hasn't hosted in the last decade are so they were sent out to the west coast?

The benefit of being regional host is having home field advantage and all that comes with it. Including a very partisan crowd. LSU fans have proven they are one of the few fanbases that really gives a damn about college baseball and will travel (within reason) to support their team. So if you give LSU fans a reasonable road trip, coupled with marginal fan support for the host team, LSU fans can largely mitigate the home crowd advantage. It's chicken shite and not LSU's fault they have great fan support, but the NCAA wants to "reward" the host school. One way to do that it to keep a road team that will bring a big crowd away from the regional.

Hattiesburg is appx. 3 hours away from BR. I would be stunned if the NCAA would send LSU there (even though it makes perfect sense from a geographical standpoint). USM has a small stadium. But LSU fans would find a way to eat up at least 35%-40% of the tickets. That is not as much of a concern if LSU is playing in, say, Palo Alto, CA

How is A&M the #7 seed overall? They have a lesser RPI (24) and a weaker SOS than LSU currently, and have only two more conference wins than LSU, but LSU isn't even a host.

They do have a better Q1 record, but the SEC record should be all that matters.

Are they giving to much credence to "winning" the west?

These projections say one thing.

Kendall and Aaron have no idea what the committee is thinking.

Take for example...Georgia Southern, didn't even win the sunbelt and is a regional host. It's not going to happen.
