Did I hear Jordy correctly yesterday when he claimed to have bet against the Tigers vs Miss St? Or did he just mean that he picked LSU to loose? How do people that call themselves LSU fans really bet money for LSU to loose.

Because you can be a fan of a team and want them to win but at the same time be unbiased with your money. I don’t see an issue with it.

Never bet with your heart.

Most just don't bet games their team is in if they aren't confident in a win but I wouldn't put money on LSU to win if I didn't think they could, even though I'm a fan.

A fan doesn't have to think their team will will 100% of the time to be a fan

Because they are not emotional children

If LSU looses they win money, if they win they are happy their team won

I bet Bama a lot to win even though I'm pulling against them

when you bet with money it's usually a dumb idea to let personal feelings get in the way of your pick. Bet he wishes he didn't do that though.

You can be a gambler first and a fan second.
Hanny picked LSU to lose. Doubt if he bet against them.

cus some of y'all believe LSU will win every game every year lol any sensible fan knows we're not doing shite this year if we can make money betting on it so what, just enjoy anything we get on the field this year.

Or both could happen. If you bet against LSU this week, the Tigers could win by 4 touchdowns AND you could win your bet.

It’s lose. As in he is a loser.

Not really. People want to believe in true objectivity, but it’s a myth. Human beings are incapable of being completely objective. Our personalities, ingrained biases and preconceptions will always factor into our decisions, even if we can achieve some emotional distance.

Someone being willing to bet against their team doesn’t mean they are being “unbiased.” If you really follow a team closely and are a big fan, that connection will create biases both positive and negative that will be be part of any assessment you make.

It’s his money and anyone is free to bet against their team if they want to, but it doesn’t mean they are unbiased.

A person betting serious $ on a team they are emotionally attached to is a recipe for disaster.
